  Press Release  Bridgewater Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau-The Bridgewater Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Rt 22 West in the area of the Red Bull Inn at approximately 10:02 pm on Saturday, January 23rd.  In that accident a pedestrian was struck and killed as he attempted to cross Rt 22 West.  Evidence obtained at the scene leads investigators to believe more than one vehicle may have been involved.  This accident is still under investigation.

Any witnesses or person(s) have information regarding the accident are asked to contact Officer Robert Stasiulaitis at (908) 722-4111 ext. 4159.

  The Bridgewater Police Department Needs Assistance!!!

The Bridgewater Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary to the PNC Bank, night drop vault, located in the Prince Rodgers Shops on Prince Rodgers Avenue.  The attempted burglary occurred on October 13, 2009 between  12:36am and 2:00am .  This agency is requesting anyone who may have observed any vehicles or people in the bank parking lot or in the drive up window during this time period to please call Detective Tom Rice of the Bridgewater Police Department 908-722-4111 ext. 4151.

May, 2008-  The Bridgewater Police Department would like to congratulate LT. Kish on his recent promotion to Captain. 

New Hires: 
 

Officer Knapp joined the department on August 29, 2007, as a graduate of the Somerset County Police Academy Alternate Route Program.  He holds a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies from Rutgers University. 

Officer Thorsen joined the department on January 31, 2008, as a graduate of the Somerset County Police Academy Alternate Route Program, where he received the distinguished Chief Richard Ryan Physical Fitness Award and the Hunterdon County Chiefs’ Association Ronnie M. Calhoun “Matter of Pride” Award.  He holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Centenary College. 

Officer Kennedy joined the department on January 31, 2008, as a graduate of the Somerset County Police Academy Alternate Route Program.  He holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Raritan Valley Community College.

  1-26-07  The Bridgewater Police Department now has 15 defibrillators in service with the ability to be used on both adult and infants.    The Police are dispatched to every first aid call and are usually the first "First Responder" to arrive on the scene.  This will greatly enhance the Department's ability to save lives.

  Please join us in welcoming Officer Albanese as a member of our Police Department.  Officer Albanese was sworn in as an officer with our department on Jan 4th, 2007.  He served with the United States Navy for ten years and during his tenure with the Navy he served in the Persian Gulf War.  In 2004, Officer Albanese was hired as a dispatcher with our department.  In 2006, he applied and was accepted as an alternate route candidate to the Somerset County Police Academy Class 37-06.  Upon graduating from the academy he received the Officer Ronnie M. Calhoun "Matter of Pride Award."

We are proud and pleased to have Officer Albanese join the ranks of our police family.
