  DWI Arrest – August 17, 2008 @ 0230 hours, Udaykumar A. Patel, 37, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for DWI on Route 22 West.  A passing motorist alerted police headquarters of a possible drunk driver on Route 22 West near North Bridge Street.  An officer located the vehicle near Country Club Road.  The operator, Udaykumar Patel, was subsequently arrested for DWI.  Patel was charged with DWI, Failure to Maintain a Lane and Careless Driving. 

  DWI Arrest – August 17, 2008 @ 0046, Jan Cogan, 25, Basking Ridge, NJ was arrested for DWI on Finderne Avenue.  Cogan was charged with DWI, Driving While Suspended and Tailgating.

  DWI Arrest – August 17, 2008 @ 0029 hours, Joseph A. Caruso, 27, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for DWI on Finderne Avenue.  Caruso was charged with DWI, Failure to Maintain a Lane, Failure to Signal a Turn and Failure to Exhibit Documents. 

  DWI Arrest – August 16, 2008 @ 1900 hours a juvenile resident of Branchburg was arrested for DWI on Commons Way.  The juvenile was charged with DWI, DWI while underage, Speeding, Careless Driving and Failure to Signal a Turn.

  Arrest/Underage Consumption of Alcohol – August 16, 2008 @ 0850 hours, Traci Carreker, 19, Somerville, NJ was arrested for Underage Consumption of Alcohol on Route 22 East.  An officer on patrol located a disabled vehicle on Route 22 East.  The owner of the vehicle was contacted and it was learned the vehicle had been taken by Carreker without permission prior to its becoming disabled.  Carreker arrived back at the vehicle a short time later.  It was determined she had consumed alcohol while under the legal age.  She was subsequently arrested and charged with Underage Consumption of Alcohol.  The owner of the vehicle signed an additional complaint for taking the vehicle without their consent.  Carreker was released on her own recognizance. 

  Arrest/Disorderly Conduct – August 16, 2008 @ 0002 hours, Thomas Moriarty, 20, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for disorderly conduct.  Moriarty was arrested after police responded to an area off Milltown Road on the report that Moriarty threatened a passing motorist.  Moriarty also used profanities during the police investigation.

  Burglary/ Theft/Motor Vehicle – August 15, 2008 @ 1952 hours a resident of New York reported their vehicle was burglarized while parked at Houlihans Restaurant.  Stolen from the vehicle were a laptop computer and other personal items belonging to the victim.

  Arrest/Exhibiting Fraudulent Identification – August 15, 2008 @ 2124 hours, Gillan Sandi, 51, Bridgewater was arrested for providing a fraudulent government document to a law enforcement officer.  Sandi was arrested after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  She gave the officer who stopped her, a social security card that was determined to be fraudulent as proof of identification.  Sandi was released without bail after a charge of Providing Fraudulent Identification to a Law Enforcement Officer was authorized by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

  Burglary/Theft/Motor Vehicle – August 15, 2008 @ 1952 hours a second burglary to vehicle was reported at Houlihans Restaurant.  The victim reported a briefcase was stolen from the vehicle.  In both cases a window was broken to gain entry.

  DWI Arrest – August 15, 2008 @ 0253 hours, Joseph L. Caruso, 53, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for DWI on Union Avenue.  Caruso was charged with DWI, Failure to Maintain a Lane and Illegal Window Tint.

  Criminal Mischief/Motor Vehicle – August 14, 2008 @ 2214 hours a Hillsborough resident reported their vehicle was damaged while parked out Maggiano’s Restaurant.  The damage consisted of a large scratch on the side of the vehicle.

  Burglary/Theft/Motor Vehicle – August 14, 2008 @ 1107 hours a resident of Lindsley Road reported their vehicle was burglarized.  A window of the vehicle was shattered and a GPS unit was stolen.

  Burglary/Theft/Motor Vehicle – August 12, 2008 @ 1549 hours a resident of Third Street reported their unlocked vehicle was entered.  The only thing reported stolen was a lawn tractor key.

  Identity Theft – August 12, 2008 @ 1224 hours a Township resident came to police headquarters and reported the theft of their identity.  The resident advised the officer who took the report that someone fraudulently obtained one of his bank checks.  This check was then altered and re-issued to an unknown subject.  The check was cashed at a business in NYC.

  Burglary/Theft/Criminal Mischief – August 12, 2008 @ 0333 hours a burglary to a motor vehicle was reported on Williamson Court.  At approximately 0325 hours a resident of Waugh Court was outside their residence when they observed an unknown male subject approach a neighbor’s vehicle.  The unknown male broke out the front driver side window and stole a GPS unit valued at $150.

  Arrest/Shoplifting – August 11, 2008 @ 1839 hours three juveniles were arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s.  One of the juveniles was observed by a security officer using scissors to remove security sensors from merchandise.  The merchandise was then placed into a shopping bag and the juveniles exited the store.  This case will be forwarded to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for charges of shoplifting and possession of a shoplifting tool.

  Burglary/Theft – August 11, 2008 @ 0715 hours, a burglary and theft were reported to a locked vehicle owned by a business on Route 22 East.  A padlock used to secure the rear door on the vehicle was cut and tools valued at nearly $3,000 were stolen. 

  DWI Arrest – August 10, 2008 @ 0340 hours, Jose J. Rioja Rodriguez, 27, Gaitherburg, MD was arrested for DWI on Route 22 East.  Rioja Rodriguez was charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples and Failure to Maintain a Lane.

  DWI Arrest - August 9, 2008 @ 2354 hours, Joaquim L. Ferreira, 53, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for DWI on Route 202/206 South.  Ferreira was charged with DWI and Failure to Maintain a Lane.

  Arrest/Shoplifting – August 9, 2008 @ 1650 hours, Vannessa Buck, 19, Metuchen, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Costco.  Buck shoplifted 10 DVD’s valued over $250.

  Theft – August 8, 2008 @ 1950 hours a shopper at the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported the theft of her purse.  The victim told the investigating officer she put her purse on the floor and an unknown male grabbed it and ran off.

  Arrest/Shoplifting/Juveniles – August 8, 2008 @ 1619 hours, two juveniles from North Plainfield were arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s.  After being arrested, stolen items from four other stores located at the Bridgewater Commons Mall were found in their possession.  All the recovered merchandise was returned to the stores.  This case will be forwarded to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.

  DWI Arrest – August 8, 2008 @ 0014 hours, Robert P. Archer, 33, Annandale, NJ was arrested for DWI on Route 22 West.  Archer was charged with DWI and Unsafe Lane Change.

  DWI Arrest – August 8, 2008 @ 0152 hours, Henry J. Lutz, 47, Linden, NJ was arrested for DWI on Woodlawn Avenue.  Lutz was stopped after he failed to yield to a patrol car at the intersection of Route 202/206 North and Downey Road.  Lutz was charged with DWI and Failure to Yield at an Intersection.

  Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card – Reported to Police on 8-7-08 @1813 hours.  A Township resident reported their debit card was used by an unknown person to make an on-line purchase.  The purchase was made from a company in California for merchandise valued at $160.

  Arrest/Shoplifting – August 7, 2008 @ 1717 hours, Garrett S. Williams, 20, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Costco.  Williams shoplifted three video games valued at over $130.

  DWI Arrest – August 7, 2008 @ 2158 hours, Guillermo Bustillo, 33, Elizabeth, NJ was arrested on Route 22 East for DWI.  Patrols were alerted by a passing motorist of an erratic driver.  Bustillo was located in a parking lot along Route 22 where he was subsequently arrested.  Bustillo was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving and being an Unlicensed Driver.  He was released after posting bail on a municipal court warrant issued by the Plainfield Municipal Court.

  DWI Arrest – August 6, 2008 @ 0003 hours, Carlos A. Saenz, 39, Bound Brook, NJ was arrested for DWI on East Main Street.  Saenz was charged with DWI, Failure to Maintain a Lane, Failure to Exhibit Documents and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.

  Arrest/Shoplifting – August 5, 2008 @ 1514 hours, a township juvenile was arrested for shoplifting at Bloomingdales.  The juvenile was processed for shoplifting and criminal mischief.  The criminal mischief complaint was due to damage caused to a $98 dress when the juvenile removed a security sensor. This case will be forwarded to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.

  DWI Arrest – August 5, 2008 @ 2310 hours, Heather Droz, 38, Raritan, NJ was arrested for DWI on East Main Street.  Droz was charged with DWI and Failure to Maintain a Lane.

  Arrest/CDS – August 3, 2008 @ 2313 hours, four adult males were found in a Township park after hours and subsequently arrested.  Jovany Pineda, 18, Dunellen, NJ was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (slingshot), Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jose A. Romero, 20, Manville, NJ was arrested for Loitering in a park after hours.  Wilbur A. Hernandez, 19, Plainfield, NJ and William E. Barrera, 20, Plainfield, NJ were also charged with a Township ordinance of Loitering in a park after hours.  The men were all released on their own recognizance after processing.

  Criminal Mischief – Saturday, August 2, 2008 @ 1930 hours, two incidents of Criminal Mischief were reported at the Bridgewater Commons Mall.  Two victims reported their cars were intentionally scratched while parked at the mall.

  Criminal Mischief – August 1, 2008 @ 1910 hours, a resident of Wharton Avenue reported someone broke the rear passenger side window on their vehicle with an unknown object.

  Arrest/CDS Possession – Saturday, August, 2, 2008 @ 1816 hours, two township juveniles were arrested for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams after a motor vehicle stop.  This case will be forwarded to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for complaints.

  Arrest/Shoplifting – Saturday, August 2, 2008 @ 1340 hours, Lawrence Valjato, 59, Raritan, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Bloomingdales.  Valjato was observed by store security leaving the store without paying for a shirt valued at $85.

  Theft – Thursday, July31, 2008 – a Warren resident reported the theft of her wallet from her purse while shopping at Costco.

  Recovered Stolen Vehicle – July 31, 2008 @ 0239 an officer on patrol recovered an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Babies R Us.  The vehicle had been reported stolen in Clifton on July 30, 2008.

  Theft/Auto – July 30, 2008 @ 1751 hours, a Somerville resident reported their 1998 Honda Civic was stolen from the parking lot of Costco.

  Burglary – Wednesday, July 30, 2008 @ 1130 hours, a burglary to a vehicle was reported at the Raritan Valley Country Club.  The complainant reported an individual was seen in their vehicle.  Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle.

  Theft – Tuesday, July 29, 2008 @2330 hours, an employee of Home Depot Route 202 South, reported the theft of two buckets of driveway sealant. 

  Arrest/Criminal Trespass – Tuesday, July 29, 2008 @ 2303 hours, a resident of Vanderveer Road reported she had seen an individual that she did not know in her garage.  The description provided by the complainant lead to the arrest of Anthony Santaniello, 41, Bridgewater, NJ. Santaniello admitted he was in the garage, but was only there to tell the homeowner they had left their garage door open.

  DWI Arrest – July 29, 2008 @ 2145 hours, Jessica L. Miller, 27, Edison, NJ, was arrested for DWI on Country Club Road.  Miller was stopped after failing to dim her high beams.  She was charged with DWI, Careless Driving and Failure to Dim High Beams.

  Theft – Tuesday, July 29, 2008 @ 1300 hours, an employee of the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported her cell phone was stolen from the Mall.  The complainant told the investigating officer she inadvertently left her cell phone on the roof of her vehicle.  When she returned to her vehicle the phone was gone.

  Harassment – Tuesday, July 29, 2008 @ 0830 hours, an employee of Macy’s responded to police headquarters and reported she is being harassed by another employee. The other involved party was contacted and requested to have no further contact with the complainant.  The complainant was advised of complaint signing procedures.

  DWI Arrest – Monday, July 28, 2008 @ 0152 hours Rinita Williams, 38, Basking Ridge, NJ was arrested on Route 22 East for DWI.  Williams was charged with DWI and Refusal to Submit Breath Samples.

  Theft – Monday, July 28, 2008 @ 1215 hours, Roman Jewelers at the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported the theft of a diamond ring valued at $12,000.  An employee of the store reported they were showing the ring to a customer when the customer suddenly ran from the store with the ring.  Witnesses provided the following description of the suspect: White or Hispanic male 30-35 YOA wearing an orange/yellow shirt, baggy jeans and white sneakers.  He also had facial hair and a scar on his upper right cheek.  He may have left the mall property in a green Jeep Liberty.  Any witnesses are asked to contact the Bridgewater Township Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau at (908)725-6491.

  Burglary/Theft – Sunday, July 27, 2008 @ 1650 hours, a resident of Flemington reported a theft from the unlocked storage bins on his utility truck while it was parked outside the Home Depot on Route 202.  Tools valued at nearly $500 were taken from the truck.

  Burglary/Theft – Sunday, July 27, 2007 @ 0932 hours, a resident of Woodside Lane reported a burglary and theft.  Two unlocked vehicles were entered and change was taken from both vehicles.

  Arrest- Criminal Mischief – Friday, July 25, 2008 @ 1500 hours, a juvenile resident of Catholic Charities was arrested for Criminal Mischief after a staff member reported the juvenile had broken a window.  The case will be forwarded to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for juvenile charges.

  DWI Arrest – Friday, July 25, 2008 @ 0235 hours, Victor J. Perez, 29, Easton, PA was arrested on Route 202 South for DWI.  Perez was charged with DWI, Driving While Suspended and Speeding.  He was released after posting bail on a warrant issued by the North Hunterdon Regional Municipal Court.

  ArrestDefiant Trespass – Thursday, July 24, 2008 @ 1630 hours, two (juvenile) township residents were arrested and charged with Defiant Trespass.  The juveniles were located inside Hamilton School after officers responded to that location for a burglar alarm.  The case will be forwarded to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for possible juvenile charges.

  Arrest- Thursday, July 24, 2008 @ 2310 hours, Nicole Hewlett  age 29 Bridgewater, NJ was arrested and charged with Being Under the Influence of CDS and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.  The arrest resulted after the police were called to Hewlett’s residence for a rescue squad call.

  Identity Theft – Wednesday, July 23, 2008 @ 1500 hours, a township resident responded to police headquarters and reported their name and social security number had been used for employment by an unknown person.

  Arrest- Simple Assault – Tuesday, July 22, 2008 @ 2300 hours, a juvenile resident of Catholic Charities was arrested for Simple Assault after a Bridgewater Police Officer witnessed the juvenile punch another resident in the face.  The case will be forwarded to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for juvenile charges.

  DWI Arrest – Tuesday, July 22, 2008 – Kirk W. Uhler Bridgewater, NJ age 20 was arrested for DWI at 0130 hours on Vanderveer Road.  Uhler was observed by an officer driving over a curb.  Uhler then attempted to flee from his vehicle on foot.  Uhler was charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit Breath Tests, DWI While Underage and a complaint summons for a Township Ordinance Violation of Fleeing on Foot.

  DWI Arrest – Saturday, July 19, 2008 – Talmage P. Bursh Jr. age 50 Bedminster, NJ was arrested for DWI at 0105 hours on Route 22 West.  Bursh was charged with DWI and Failure to Maintain a Lane.

  DWI Arrest – Saturday, July 19, 2008 – Fernando Medina-Garcia age 34 Somerville, NJ was arrested for DWI at 0208 hours.  Medina-Garcia was located in the parking lot of Nap Torpy Park (Somerset County Park) after the park had closed.  Medina-Garcia was charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit Breath Samples, Driving While Suspended and Loitering in a County Park after hours.

  DWI Arrest – Saturday, July 19, 2008 – Diana L. Simone age 29 Manville, NJ was arrested for DWI at 0220 hours on Chimney Rock Road.  Simone was charged with DWI, Driving While Suspended and Failure to Maintain a Lane.  She was placed in the Somerset County Jail after she could not post bail for two active traffic warrants issued by the Bridgewater Municipal Court.

  Theft – Saturday, July 19, 2008 – Employees at The Gap reported that merchandise valued in excess of $1,200 was stolen sometime during the day on Saturday.

  Arrest – Possession of CDS Under 50 Grams - Saturday, July 19, 2008 – Adam J. Zimmerman age 21 Tabernacle, NJ was arrested at 2156 hours on Route 22 West after suspected marijuana was located in his vehicle.  Zimmerman was charged with Possession of CDS under 50 Grams, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Maintain a Lane and Use of Handheld Cell Phone While Driving. 

  DWI Arrest – Friday, July 18, 2008 – John R. Houghton age 40 Oldwick, NJ was arrested for DWI at 0130 hours on Route 202/206 North.  Houghton was charged with DWI, Failure to Maintain a Lane, Driving While Suspended and Failure to Exhibit a Vehicle Registration. 

  DWI Arrest – Friday, July 18, 2008 – Joseph S. Gray II age 38 Somerville, NJ was arrested for DWI at 1030 hours on Union Avenue.  Gray was charged with DWI, Open Container of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Make Repairs and Failure to Maintain a Single Lane.

  DWI Arrest – Thursday, July 17, 2008 – William Font Kissimmee, FL age 53 was arrested for DWI at 0120 hours on Route 22 West.  Font was charged with DWI, Delaying Traffic and DWI with a minor as a passenger

  DWI Arrest – Thursday, July 17, 2008 – Joseph P. Mazeika age 24 Manville, NJ was arrested for DWI at 0110 hours on Finderne Avenue.  Mazeika was charged with DWI, Failure to Maintain a Lane and Failure to Signal a Lane Change.

  Arrest – Offensive Language and Township Ordinance Violation Improper Behavior -   Wednesday, July 16, 2008 - Brian P. Conner age 22 Ridley Park, PA was arrested at Commerce Bank Park (Patriot Stadium) at 2215 hours.  Conner was arrested after an officer observed him urinating in the stadium parking lot and using offensive language in front of other patrons.

  DWI Arrest – Tuesday, July 15, 2008 – John D. Vivoli age 30 Carteret, NJ was arrested for DWI at 0139 hours on Mine Road.  Vivoli was charged with DWI, Speeding, Failure to stop at a Stop Sign, Littering (lit cigarette thrown from vehicle), Failure to Maintain a Lane and Failure to Produce a Vehicle Registration.

  Burglary/Theft – Tuesday, July 15, 2008 – a burglary was reported at the North Branch Park on Milltown Road.  Two vending machines were pried open and cash was reported taken.

  DWI Arrest – Tuesday, July 15, 2008 – Barbara T. Woldin age 60 Bound Brook, NJ was arrested for DWI at 2150 hours on Route 22 East.  Woldin was charged with DWI and Failure to Maintain a Lane.

  DWI Arrest – Monday, July 14, 2008 – Robert Bartold age 44 Airmont, NY was arrested for DWI at 1640 hours on Route 202/206 North.  Bartold was charged with DWI, Open Container, Unsafe Lane Change and Driving While Suspended.  He was also charged with Hindering Apprehension after providing the arresting officer with a false name during the traffic stop.

  Shoplifting Arrest – Saturday, July 12, 2008 – Ricardo Romero age 33 Hillsborough, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Costco.

  DWI Arrest – Monday, July 7, 2008 @ 2012 hours, John Kozloski, 55, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for DWI.  Kozloski was stopped on Route 28 near Country Club Road for having a commercial vehicle registered as a passenger vehicle.  Kozloski was charged with DWI and Registering a Commercial Vehicle as a Passenger Vehicle.

  Burglary & Theft – June 30: A residence on Emerald Trail reported their house was entered between 3:00pm and 6:00pm on June 30. An Xbox 360 along with other electronic items were taken from the residence. The items totaled approximately $610.00. There are no suspects and no signs of forced entry.

  Burglary & Theft – June 30: A residence on Foothill Road was entered between 9:30am and 12:30pm on June 30. The victims lost approximately $5000.00 worth of jewelry. There are no suspects and no signs of forced entry.

  MV Stop & DWI – June 05, 2008: Christopher O’Brien (20 yoa) of Basking Ridge was stopped for running through a stop sign. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. He was also charged with Failure to Stop, given a court date and released to a friend.

  Theft – June 04, 2008: A patron of the Bridgewater Manor reported his wallet was taken from the bridal suite. Total of $490.00 worth of cash and other items were taken from the room. No suspects.

  MV Stop & DWI – June 04, 2008: Joseph Manteria (31 yoa) of Bridgewater was stopped for running a red light, swerving, and speeding. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. Manteria was also charged with: Failure to Observe Signal, Failure to Signal Turn, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Speeding. He was issued summonses and released to a friend.

  Burglary & Theft – June 03, 2008: An employee of Executive Cellular reported a theft of seven cellular phones totaling $2379.97. The phones were locked in a cabinet and had the doors broken off. No suspects

  Burglary & Theft – June 03, 2008: Multiple vehicles parked on Oak street were entered and items were taken. Steven Lawson (28 yoa) of Raritan and Frank Pellechio Jr (21 yoa) of Raritan were arrested for Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property.

  Shoplifting – June 03, 2008: A manager from FYE at the Somerset Shopping Center reported an unknown male and female entered the store and walked out of the store with an unknown amount of Blu-Ray DVD’s in the suspects’ purse.

  Possession of CDS & Paraphernalia – June 03, 2008: Brian Sack (27 yoa) of Bridgewater, was arrested for Possession of Cocaine, Marijuana, Paraphernalia, and Fireworks. He served with complaint summonses. After posting bail on an outstanding warrant, he was released with a pending court date.

  MV Stop & DWI – June 03, 2008: Edward Dalcero (34 yoa) of Hillsborough was stopped for swerving and running a red traffic light. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. Dalcero was also charged with Failure to Maintain a Lane and Failure to Observe Signal. He was issued summonses, given a court date, and released to a friend.

  MV Stop & DWI – June 01, 2008: Nery Rodriguez-Martinez (39 yoa) of Somerville was stopped for swerving. He failed the sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. He was also charged with Failure to Maintain Lane. He was issued summonses and released with a court date.

  Burglary & Theft – May 31, 2008: A patron of the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported her Acura was taken from parking lot #5. She stated she had “The Club” interlocking devices in her vehicle, neither of which were used.

  MV Stop & DWI – May 31, 2008: Carlos Mariscal (25 yoa) of South Plainfield was stopped for failure to stop at a red traffic light and speeding. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. He was also charged with Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device and Speeding. Marsical was released from custody after notifying Immigration Customs Enforcement.

  MV Stop & DWI – May 29, 2008: Champ Planet (67 yoa) of Branchburg, was stopped for swerving between lanes. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. He was also charged with Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle. Planet was subsequently taken to Somerset Medical Center for evaluation.

  Possession of CDS & Paraphernalia – May 29, 2008: Andrew Comatos (20 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was arrested for having three marijuana plants in his vehicle and a bottle containing cigar filling. He was lodged in Somerset County Jail.

  Burglary & Theft – May 28, 2008: A patron of the Jewish Community Center reported his Rolex watch and $105.00 cash missing from his locked locker. No suspects

  Burglary & Theft – May 27, 2008: A resident of Somerville Road reported his unlocked Ford Truck was entered and a Garmin GPS unit was taken from inside the truck, as well as other items. No suspects.

  Stolen MV – May 21, 2008: A resident of Sunnyside Terrace reported his Ford van along with several items inside, were taken sometime overnight between 5/20 & 5/21. The van was reported to be unlocked with the keys inside. No suspects

  MV Stop & Disorderly Conduct – May 20, 2008: Collins Fekederimo (56 yoa) was stopped for failure to stop at a stop sign. After receiving a summons for the violation, the subject became irate and approached the officer. He did not comply with the officer’s orders and was arrested for disorderly conduct. Fekederimo was served with a complaint summons and released.

  Forgery & Theft by Deception – May 20, 2008: David Flower (19 yoa) of South Bound Brook was arrested for Forgery and Theft by deception for altering the totals on multiple credit card purchases. He was served with complaint summonses and released with a court date.

  Burglary & Theft – Jan 2, 2008: An employee from Somerset County Education Services reported a theft of first aid kits from buses, as well as vandalism to some buses. No suspects.

  MV Stop & Possession of CDS – Jan 2, 2008: Christopher Gonzalez (25 yoa) of Manville was stopped for swerving between lanes. He was found to be in possession of marijuana and was subsequently arrested for it. He was served with summonses then given a court date and released.

  Theft – Jan 1, 2008: Three employees from Best Buy were arrested for theft by concealing and under-ringing merchandise. The total was approximately $6459.92 between all three employees. They were all lodged in the Somerset County Jail with bail to be set.

  Robbery – Jan 1, 2008: A patron of the Bed, Bath & Beyond was the victim of a robbery when an unknown vehicle stopped in front of her as she was about to cross the roadway. An unknown vehicle stopped in front of her and the driver asked for directions. The driver reached out and grabbed her purse then began to drive off, dragging the victim alongside the black SUV. The driver let go and the victim was unable to pursue the SUV.

  MV Stop & DWI – Dec 30, 2007: Karl Schwarz (46 yoa) of Bridgewater was found disabled on the side of the road. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. He was released to family.

  CDS in a Motor Vehicle – Dec 22, 2007: Rafael Rivera (44 yoa) of Hillsborough was found in his vehicle, loitering behind a building. He was found to have Crack Cocaine in his possession and paraphernalia. He was served with a complaint summons and released with a court date.

  MV Stop & CDS – Dec 22, 2007: Jennifer Chehade (21 yoa) of Green Brook was stopped for driving with her hazard lights on. She was found to be in possession of CDS and paraphernalia. She was served with summonses and released with a court date.

  Shoplifting – Dec 22, 2007: Richard Nowel (55 yoa) of Bedminster was arrested for shoplifting approximately $986.97 worth of merchandise at Lord & Taylor in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. He was served with a complaint summons and court date.

  Shoplifting – Dec 21, 2007: Miketta Patrick (33 yoa) of Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting in Lord & Taylor in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The total of the merchandise was approximately $322.00. She was given w complaint summons and released with a court date.

  Theft – Dec 20, 2007: A patron of Maggiano’s restaurant reported the front NJ license plate from his Truck was taken. No suspects.

 Theft – Dec 18, 2007: Two unknown female are suspects in a theft where clothing from the Children’s Place in the Bridgewater Commons Mall was taken. The clothing was valued at approximately $60.00.

  Shoplifting – Dec 18, 2007: Brendon Phillips (23 yoa) of Riversedge was arrested for taking approximately $79.96 worth of merchandise from Costco. He was served with a complaint summons and released on his own recognizance.

Theft & Possession of CDS paraphernalia – Dec 17, 2007: William Hart (25 yoa) of Bound Brook was found making false cash transactions at Borders. Upon his arrest, he was found with hypodermic syringes, a metal spoon, and cotton balls. He was released on his own recognizance with a court date.

  Shoplifting – Dec 15, 2007Two male suspects with vague descriptions were seen in the Men’s department of Bloomingdale’s. They grabbed several pairs of Rockin Republic/Citizens Blue jeans, valued at approximately $2400.00, and proceeded to walk to the exit doors without paying. When they were approached by security, they took off and were unable to be followed.

  Burglary – Dec 15, 2007: A resident of Stratford Place found her Honda S2000 to have been burglarized and items stolen from in the interior of the vehicle. The unknown suspects gained entry by cutting the soft convertible top to the car. Approximately $6498.00 worth of items were taken from the vehicle.

  Shoplifting – Dec 15, 2007: Nadia Solomon (18 yoa) of Stockton was arrested for shoplifting approximately $ 112.00 worth of merchandise from Bloomingdale’s. She was arrested and served with a complaint summons and released.

  Criminal Mischief- Dec 14, 2007: A resident on Cornell Blvd stated sometime around 11:15pm she heard a heard a noise. The noise was a window broken by an egg. No suspects.

  Harassment & Simple Assault - Dec 14, 2007: Two employees at Baker & Taylor were verbally arguing when one brandished a knife. The knife was taken out of his hand prior to officer’s arrival. Both parties were advised of complaint signing procedures.

  Theft – Dec 05, 2007: An employee of the Bridgewater Commons Mall had her purse taken from the food court as she was eating. She left it on the chair next to her and when she finished eating, it was gone. No suspects.

  Shoplifting – Dec 04: James Cauthen (40 yoa) of Somerville was arrested for shoplifting approximately $385.83 worth of merchandise from Target. He also had an outstanding warrant from East Brunswick PD and was turned over to them in lieu of bail.

  Shoplifting & Possession of Marijuana – Dec 04: William Torres Jr (21 yoa) of  Piscataway was arrested for shoplifting approximately $165.99 worth of merchandise from Lord & Taylor in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. He was served with complaint summonses and released with a court date.

  MV Stop & DWI – Dec 03: Stephanie Toth (23 yoa) of Metuchen was stopped for speeding. She was given sobriety tests which she failed and was arrested fro DWI. She was given a summons for Speeding and for DWI, then released to family.

  Attempted Burglary & Criminal Mischief – Nov 29, 2007: A patron of Best Buy reported someone attempted to punch the driver’s side door lock on his BMW X5. No access was gained and two suspects with vague descriptions were given.

  MV Stop & DWI – Nov 28, 2007: Elizer Rodriguez-Class (20 yoa) of Northampton was stopped for speeding. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested. He was charged with Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, and DWI. He was released to family with a court date.

  Burglary & Theft – Nov 27, 2007: Issac Chulca (23 yoa), Marcelo Salvador (20 yoa), Almagro Washington (29 yoa), Luis Migel (23 yoa), and Fernanda Cahuasqui (25 yoa) all of Plainfield were arrested for Burglary, Theft, and Disorderly Conduct. Actors entered a vehicle and removed a backpack from inside. During investigation, a number of the suspects became disorderly and struggled with a Police officer. Salvador was lodged in the Somerset County Jail. The others were summonsed and given court dates.

  Shoplifting & Possession of Burglary Tools – Nov 27, 2007: Delia Monteschio (43 yoa) of Bridgewater was arrested and charged with Shoplifting and Possession of Burglary Tools. She selected merchandise and placed it into her cart and attempted to leave the store. She was served with a complaint summons and released with a court date.

  Shoplifting – Nov 25, 2007: Deanna Muniz (39 yoa) of Whitehouse Station was arrested for taking $715.28 worth of merchandise without paying from Wegmans. Muniz was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She posted bail and was released with a pending court date.

  MV Stop & DWI – Nov 24, 2007: John Gyurik (36 yoa) of Woodbridge was stopped for swerving. He failed the sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI.  He was released to family and was given a court date.

Watson (38 yoa) of Plainfield were arrested for shoplifting in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Both subjects were also found to have outstanding warrants. They were lodged in Somerset County Jail.

  Theft – November 13, 2007: An employee of Ernest Renda Contracting reported various plumbing supplies were taken from his job site. No suspects.

  Burglary – Nov 12, 2007: A window of 1952 Route 22 east was broken and the business was entered between 11/09 & 11/12. Nothing was known to be taken and there are no suspects.

  MV Stop & CDS arrest – Nov 12, 2007: Hersh Singh (21 yoa) of Raritan was stopped for speeding. He was subsequently arrested for possession of “Mushrooms” and charged with CDS, drug paraphernalia, and speeding. He was summonsed and released with a pending court date.

  Structure Fire – Nov 12, 2007:  A residence on Finderne Avenue sustained fire damage due to electrical malfunctions.

  Disorderly Conduct – Nov 01, 2007: Caitlin Folsom (21 yoa) of Parsippany was arrested for disorderly conduct while in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. She was issued a complaint summons and released with a pending court date.

  Credit Card Theft – Nov 01, 2007: A resident of Sunny Slope road reported her two credit cards were stolen/lost and fraudulent charges were made. No suspects.

  Receiving Stolen Property – Nov 6, 2007: George Brown (34 yoa) of Bridgewater was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property. The property was from several different townships. He was released and charges are being sought through Somerset County Prosecutors Office.

  Possession of marijuana & Loitering in Park – Nov 06, 2007: Hersh Singh (21 yoa) of Raritan was found at White Rock Park after park hours. He was found in possession of marijuana and was arrested for same. He was summonsed and released with a court date.

  MV Stop & DWI - Nov 04, 2007: Javier Meleiro (21 yoa) of Warren was stopped for swerving. He failed the sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. He was also charged with: Failure to Maintain a Lane and Failure to Exhibit Documents. He was released to a friend.

  DWI, Possession of CDS, & Paraphernalia – Nov 03, 2007: Joao Silva (27 yoa) of Basking Ridge was stopped for speeding. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Subsequent to the DWI arrest, marijuana and a glass marijuana pipe was found in his vehicle. He was charged with: Speeding, DWI, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of CDS and Paraphernalia.   Criminal Mischief & False Public Alarm – Nov 3, 2007: Jak Hara (24 yoa) of Brooklyn, Michael Btesh (32 yoa) of Brooklyn, Alie Zeitouni (19 yoa) of Brooklyn, and Zaki Marachli (20) of Lakewood, were arrested for Criminal Mischief and Setting Off a Smoke Detector in the Marriott of Bridgewater. Approximately 20 rooms sustained water damage. Hara was lodged in the Somerset County Jail and the other three were released with pending charges from the Somerset County Prosecutors Office.

  MV Stop & DWI – Oct 31, 2007: Daniel Powell (64 yoa) of Bridgewater was stopped for swerving. Powell failed the sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. He was also charged with: Uninsured Vehicle, Failure to Keep Right, Suspended Registration, and Refusal of Breath Tests. He was released to a friend.

  Theft - Oct 31, 2007: A resident of Stratford Place had his vehicle stolen from the parking lot of Stratford Meadows. He last saw his vehicle on Oct. 30. No suspects.

  Shoplifting & Burglary Tools – Oct. 28, 2007: Siu Yip (38 yoa) of Old Bridge was arrested for shoplifting approximately $433.32 worth of merchandise. When he was arrested he was found in possession of burglars tools used to access the merchandise. He was summonsed and released.

  Theft – Oct. 28, 2007: A patron of Target left her purse at a table in the food court area. Approximately $85 cash was missing along with other cards. No suspects.

  MV Stop & DWI – Oct. 28, 2007: Alan Carroll (18 yoa) of Bridgewater was stopped for having a cracked windshield. He failed the sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Carroll was charged with DWI, Obstructed View and Underage DWI. He was released to family. 

  Theft & Burglary – Oct. 28, 2007: A wallet containing approximately $200.00 cash, a black IPOD and a white IPOD were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at 1961 Route 22 West. No suspects.

  Theft – Oct. 27, 2007: A manager from Victoria’s Secret in the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported approximately $592.00 of merchandise was missing from display racks. No suspects.

  MVA & DWI – Oct. 26, 2007: Oscar Pilla (20 yoa) of East Elmhurst was involved in a motor vehicle crash. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. He was later charged with DWI, Underage DWI, and Refusal to Submit Breath Tests. He was released to friend.

  MV Stop & DWI – Oct. 26, 2007: Geoffrey Osinski (20 yoa) of Somerville was stopped for swerving between lanes. He was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI, Underage Drinking, and Failure to Maintain a Lane. He was released to a friend.

  Stolen MV – Oct. 15, 2007: A resident of Bridgewater had his 2004 Jeep Wrangler stolen from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. He also stated that he was not in possession of the keys to his vehicle, nor did he know were they may be. No suspects.

  MV Stop & DWI – Oct. 14, 2007: Thomas Klobera (47 yoa) of Bridgewater was stopped on Crossing Blvd. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was arrested for DWI. He was released to friend.

  Shoplifting – Oct. 13, 2007: The manager of The Limited in the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported that approximately 30 turtleneck shirts were taken from a display table. The value of the shirts was totaled at $1485.00 and there are no suspects.

  Shoplifting – Oct. 13, 2007: A manager of Circuit City advised three Sony Laptop computers were taken from a display case. There were three suspects, but only vague descriptions were given.

  Suspicious Incident – Oct. 12, 2007: An unknown male was believed to be peeking in the windows on a residence on Heather Hill Way. The male was described as being a white male 35-45 years old, bald, last seen wearing: a blue or black long sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

  Possession of Marijuana & DWI – Oct 09, 2007: Rey Herrera (29 yoa) of Somerville was arrested for DWI. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Herrera was issued summonses and given a court date.

  Tampering w/public record – Oct 2, 2007: Ivan Shub (43 yoa) of Bridgewater was stopped for fictitious license plates. He presented a NJ Driver’s License that was altered. Shub was arrested and charged with Fictitious Plates, Driving on a Suspended License, and Uninsured Vehicle.

  Industrial Accident – Sept 28, 2007: An employee of Maggiano’s Restaurant was assembling a food slicer/mixer when it activated and lacerated the employee’s arm. The machine was taken out of service & the victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson for their injuries.

  Shoplifting & Possession of Burglary Tools – Sept 27, 2007: Jessica Velez (19 yoa) of Jersey City and Yolanda Feliz (34 yoa) of Jersey were arrested for shoplifting at Abercrombie & Fitch in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The two suspects selected approximately $760.60 worth of t-shirts and concealed them in their bag. They were both arrested and charged with Shoplifting, Possession of an Anti-Shoplifting Device, and Possession of Burglary Tools. They were both served with court dates and lodged in the Somerset County Jail.

  Vehicle & Structure Fire – Sept 26, 2007: The owner of a 2005 Dodge Durango lost his vehicle due to a fire. As a result of the fire, the garage next to the vehicle also caught on fire. The fire was believed to be caused by mechanical/electrical defects in the vehicle.

  Burglary & Theft – Sept 25, 2007: The manager of Bridgewater Auto Body reported someone entered the building and took a scanning tool from a storage rack. The main door was locked even though it did not appear to be functioning properly. No suspects.

  Burglary & Theft - Sept 24, 2007: The owner of Varitronics Systems reported three or four computers and a monitor have been taken from the building. A door was found unlocked upon the owner’s arrival. No suspects.

  Shoplifting – Sept 24, 2007: The manager of Target observed Heather Macgillivray (27 yoa) of Flemington conceal approximately 13 DVD’s in her cloth bag. She was apprehended when she attempted to leave the store without paying. Macgillivray was issued a summons and released.

  MV Stop & DWI – Sept 24, 2007: Suzanne Crudo (47 yoa) of Raritan was stopped for speeding. She failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Crudo was charged with Speeding and DWI. She was released to family.

  MV Stop & Possession of Marijuana – Sept 24, 2007: Michael Teixeira (20 yoa) of Somerville was arrested during a motor vehicle stop for possession of marijuana. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Maintain a Lane, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. He was released with a pending court date.

  Burglary & Theft – Sept 22, 2007: A storage cabinet to Mobile Solution in the Bridgewater Commons Mall was pried open and four Samsung Blaster cellular phones were taken. No suspects.

  MV Stop & Possession of CDS paraphernalia – Sept 22, 2007: Francis Manatan (26 yoa) of Fords was stopped for a having a license plate light out. Further investigation found that Manatan had a glass marijuana pipe inside his car. He was arrested & charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintenance of Lamps, Driving with a Suspended DL, Unregistered Vehicle, and Uninsured Vehicle. He was released to his father.

  Theft – Sept 21, 2007: Sigerfredo Campos (21 yoa) of Bound Brook was arrested for stealing items from Lord & Taylor. He was charged with Shoplifting and bail was posted.

  Shoplifting – Sept 21, 2007: The manager of Express in the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported that approximately 100 pairs of pants were taken from display racks. No suspects.

  Possession of CDS, Marijuana, and Hypodermic Needle – Sept 20, 2007: Timothy Gavin (21 yoa) was driving erratically and crashed into trees on Route 202-206. Gavin failed sobriety tests and arrested for DWI. He was later charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Gavin was lodged in Somerset County Jail.

  Underage Possession of Alcohol – Sept 20, 2007: Justin Mutilitis (19 yoa) was arrested for drinking beer in the Bridgewater Commons Mall parking deck. He was issued a summons and released pending court.

  Shoplifting & Burglary Tools – Sept 18, 2007: Luis Navarro (28 yoa) of Jackson Heights, NY was arrested for shoplifting approximately $552 worth of various clothing from Abercrombie & Fitch in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. He was also charged with Possession of Burglary Tools. Navarro was lodged in Somerset County Jail.

  Theft – Sept 18, 2007: The manager of Great Clips reported that $180.00 was stolen from the safe sometime between 9/16 & 9/17. No suspects.

  MV Stop & DWI – Sept 18, 2007: Michael Rosa (27 yoa) of Allentown, PA was stopped for careless driving. He was given sobriety tests which he failed and was subsequently arrested for DWI. He was charged with Careless Driving, Failure to Change Address on Driver’s License and DWI. He was released to family.

  Theft – Sept 18, 2007: Mark Lindberg (48 yoa) of Bridgewater was arrested for stealing approximately $402.90 worth of merchandise from Costco. He was served with a summons and court date.

  MV Stop & DWI – Sept 17, 2007: Victor Jimenez-Urena (42 yoa) was stopped for swerving between lanes. He failed the sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Jimenez was charged with Failure to Maintain a Lane and DWI. He was released to a friend.

  Criminal Mischief – Sept 17, 2007: An employee of UPS parked her vehicle in the parking lot of UPS at approximately 10pm. As she attempted to drive off, she found that 3 tires were slashed. No suspects.

  Criminal Mischief – Sept 17, 2007: A manager of Andersen Trucking Service found a trailer in the fleet had its brake lines cut in three places and the two airbags were slashed. No suspects.

  Burglary & Theft – Sept 17, 2007: A cash box at Temple Shalom was missing between 9/12 & 9/17. It contained approximately $500 and the checks attached to the cash were not removed. No suspects.

  Burglary & Theft – Sept 16, 2007: Unknown suspects entered an unlocked vehicle on Pine Street, rifled through the console and took a checkbook.

  MV Stop & DWI – Sept 16, 2007: Franklin Bolanos (52 yoa) was stopped for swerving between lanes. He was given sobriety tests, failed the tests, and was arrested for DWI. Bolanos was charged with Failure to Maintain Lane and DWI. He was released to family.

  Hindering Apprehension – Sept 16, 2007: Benjamin G Black (37 yoa) was stopped for speeding. He gave a false name to the police and was brought to Headquarters to verify his real name through fingerprints. His real name was found and he was charged with Speeding, Driving with a Suspended License, and Hindering Apprehension. He was released with a complaint and a court date.

  Theft – Sept 15, 2007: An unknown male and female entered Occhiali De Sole in the Bridgewater Commons Mall and tried on sunglasses from a display rack. An employee noticed them trying on the sunglasses and then they left the store into the mall. The employee was unable to locate them in the mall.

  Possession of Marijuana – Sept 15, 2007: Timothy Higginbotham (19 yoa), Mark Riccardi (19 yoa), Rad Cruz (23 yoa), and Jason Patel (19 yoa) were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle. They were given complaint summons and released.

  Theft – Sept 14, 2007: The manager of The Limited in the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported to the police that 24 Blue/Red blouse dress shirts were taken from a display table. Approximate value is $1188.00 and there are no suspects.

  Theft – Sept 14, 1007: The manager of Abercrombie Kids reported that 36 shirts and sweaters were missing from display racks in the store. Value is approximately $1282.00 and there are no suspects.

  Burglary, Theft, & Criminal Mischief – Sept 13, 2007: An employee of Ethicon parked his vehicle in the parking lot at approximately 10:00am. He returned to his vehicle around 1:30pm and found the passenger’s side front window shattered and his GPS was missing. No suspects.

  Uttering a Forged Document & Theft – Sept 12, 2007: A male patron at EB Games in the Bridgewater Commons Mall purchased $164.98 worth of games and accessories using American Express Travelers Cheques. The bank EB Games uses called and advised the manager the cheques were fraudulent, but the suspects left the store by that time.

  Loitering – Sept 11, 2007: Victor Rojas (18 yoa) and Jacquelyn McDowell (18 yoa) were found loitering in White Rock Park after sunset. The two suspects were found to have outstanding warrants and were arrested.

  Industrial Accident – September 11, 2007: An employee at 200 Foothill Road was performing maintenance on a conveyor belt when he started it to make adjustments. He advised he noticed the glove on his left hand was a little too close to the chain that powers the belt. By that time it was too late and the glove and thumb were entangled in the chain. He pulled his thumb away and amputated the tip of it. He was transported to Somerset Medical Center.

  Shoplifting – Sept 11, 2007: An unknown male and a female wearing a white and black shirt, black pants and white sneakers took display items off a rack in Lord & Taylor at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. They concealed the items into a black bag and started to exit the store. When they were approached by security, they took off and the female dropped the bag with the items. None of the items were damaged.

  MV Stop & DWI - Sept 10, 2007: Hugo Ramirez (37 yoa) of Lahaska, PA was stopped for swerving between lanes. He was failed the sobriety tests given to him and was subsequently arrested for DWI. He was charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, DWI, and Refusal to Submit Breath Tests. He was released to a friend.

  MV Stop & DWI – Sept 07, 2007: Ginam Zimbardo (42 yoa) of Union was stopped for swerving between lanes. Zimbardo was subsequently arrested for DWI and charged with: Failure to Maintain Lane, Failure to Exhibit Registration, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Open Alcoholic Beverage in Vehicle. Zimbardo was released to a friend.

  Burglary & Theft – Sept 07, 2007:  A resident of Sunny Slope Road had his unlocked vehicle entered and items removed. A Magellan GPS, window mount, and IPOD were taken from the unlocked center console. No suspects.

  Theft – Aug 22, 2007: Two unknown actors took five pairs of “Citizens of Humanity” jeans from the Jasmine Sola store located at the Bridgewater Commons Mall.

  Criminal Mischief – Aug 17, 2007: A vehicle parked on Smoke Rise Court had the driver’s side window broken by a rock. No suspects.

  Fugitive from Justice, Contempt of Court, Driving While Suspended – Aug 16, 2007: Michelle Boswell (21 yoa) of Trenton and Roshanda Boswell (20 yoa) of New Brunswick were arrested after giving false names. Investigation revealed their true identities and were arrested for outstanding warrants.

  MV Stop & CDS arrest – Aug 15, 2007: Kristen Hurley (22 yoa) was stopped for a parking light out on her vehicle. During the stop, an odor of burned marijuana came from her vehicle. Hurley exited the car and relinquished the leftover marijuana. She was subsequently arrested and charged with Possession of CDS, CDS in a motor vehicle, and Maintenance of lamps.

  MV Stop & DWI – Aug 15, 2007: Christine Valente (46 yoa) was stopped for swerving between lanes. She was subsequently arrested and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, DWI, No Seatbelt, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and No Child Restraints.

  Shoplifting - Aug 11, 2007: Cristie Weglarz (21 yoa) was arrested for shoplifting at Bloomingdales in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Approximately $276.00 worth of merchandise was taken. She was summonsed and released on her own recognizance.

  Criminal Mischief – Aug 10, 2007: A resident of Twin Oaks Drive had a garage window broken by a rock. No suspects.

  Gas Leak – Aug 08, 2007: A residence on Terrace Lane was struck by lighting resulting in a gas leak and other damage to the structure.

  Suspicious Incident – Aug 08, 2007: A resident on Waldron Drive found a piece of paper in their mailbox with a vulgar drawing on it. The supervisor at the US Post Office on North Bridge Street was advised of the drawing.

  MV Stop & DWI – Aug 08, 2007: Sean Walker (31 yoa) of Bound Brook was stopped for failure to stop at a red light. Walker was given sobriety tests which he failed, placing him under arrest for DWI. He was charged with Failure to observe signal, DWI, and Refusal to submit breath samples. He was released to family member.

  MV Stop & DWI – Aug 08, 2007: Benjamin Richardson (40yoa) of Flemington was pulled over for failure to maintain a lane. He was subsequently arrested for DWI and charged with Failure to Maintain a Lane, DWI and Refusal to Submit Breath Tests. He was released to a friend.

  Shoplifting, Exhibiting False Documents, & Burglary Tools – Aug 07, 2007: Maria Rubio (42 yoa), Luis Alvarado (32 yoa), and Geoconda Gomez (29 yoa) were arrested for shoplifting from various stores in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. They gave different names and were in possession of tools that would defeat security devices. All were lodged in Somerset County Jail.

  MV Stop & DWI ­– Aug 07, 2007: Walter Lawrence (45 yoa) of Montgomery, AL was stopped for making an illegal left turn on a red arrow on Commons Way. Lawrence was given sobriety tests which he failed and was subsequently arrested for DWI. He was charged with Failure to Observe a Traffic Control Device & DWI.

  Burglary, Theft, & Criminal Mischief – Aug 07, 2007: A Patron at the Home Depot Expo Design Center parked his Chevy Suburban in the parking lot and went into the store. When he returned about 30 minutes later, he observed the driver’s side front window was broken and his Magellan GPS unit was taken from the dash board. No suspects.

  Industrial Accident – Aug 07, 2007: An employee of NJ American Water was working at the pump station on Thompson Avenue. After restarting one pump, he saw a flash and then an explosion. His arms, head, and face suffered 2nd degree burns and he was transported to Robert Wood Johnson.

  Criminal Mischief – Aug 6, 2007: The Van Horne House on Finderne Avenue had the windows on the rear door broken sometime during 8/03 and 8/06. No suspects.

  Structure Fire – Aug 06, 2007: The stucco wall in the front of a residence on Todd Court received fire damage from smoldering mulch. It was believed to have been caused by poor wiring on landscaping lighting.

  Creating a False Public Alarm & Criminal Mischief – Aug 06, 2007: Unknown actor(s) wrote the following on the inside of the women’s bathroom stall; BOMB 08/06/07 5pm.   The Bradley Gardens Rescue Squad, Country Hills Fire Dept and Green Knoll Fire Departments were placed on standby. It did not appear to be a credible threat.

  Shoplifting – Aug 05, 2007: A female was arrested in Lord & Taylor for shoplifting approximately $178 worth of merchandise. She was summonsed and released.

  MV Stop & DWI – Aug 05, 2007: Douglas Wald (20 yoa) was stopped for swerving between lanes. Wald was given sobriety tests which he failed and subsequently arrested. He was charged with Failure to Maintain a Lane and DWI and then released to family.

  MV Stop & DWI – Aug 05, 2007: Carmelo Gagliardi (19 yoa) was stopped for driving with a headlight out. An open bottle of Smirnoff was found on the passenger side floor. Gagliardi was given sobriety which he failed. Gagliardi was charged with Maintenance of Lamps, Open Container of Alcohol Inside a Vehicle, and DWI. He was released to a friend.

  Underage Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages – Aug 05, 2007: Zachary Csik (20 yoa) was arrested for Underage Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages. Csik was being questioned for criminal mischief to mailboxes in the area and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on his breath. Csik failed the sobriety tests given to him and was subsequently arrested. Cisk was released to his father.

  Criminal Mischief – Aug 05, 2007: An employee of Target had his bicycle damaged while it was chained to the bike rack near the front entrance of Target. No suspects.

  Shoplifting – Aug 05, 2007: Sara Aguirre (23 yoa) of Middlesex was arrested for Shoplifting at Lord & Taylor’s in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. She was served with a summons and released on her own recognizance.

  Squad Call – Aug 05, 2007: Helder Morosa dove into his inground pool and struck his head on the bottom. He was unable to move or feel anything from his neck down. He was transported via Medevac to University Medical Center.

  Theft & Criminal Mischief – Aug 05, 2007: A resident of Raritan Borough parked their vehicle under the parking deck at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. When they returned to their vehicle, both side-view mirrors were broken off the car and taken. No suspects.

  Structure Fire – Aug 04, 2007: A Bridgewater resident smelled smoke in their living room. Officers arrived and found smoke and fire coming from behind a curio cabinet in the living room. Martinsville FD arrived and extinguished the fire. Fire was traced to the wall outlet that connected a power strip which powered the curio cabinet and a small transformer.

  Stolen Vehicle – Aug 04, 2007: Unknown actor(s) entered a locked 1993 White Honda Civic and took it from the parking deck at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The vehicle was recovered by Piscataway PD on 8/05.

  Shoplifting – Aug 04, 2007: Jasmine Marwaha (19 yoa) of Bridgewater was arrested for shoplifting at Claire’s Accessories in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Marwaha was charged with Shoplifting released on her own recognizance.

  MV Stop & DWI – Aug 04, 2007: Brian Meagher (41 yoa) of Basking Ridge was stopped for speeding. Meagher was unable to pass the sobriety tests he was given and subsequently arrested for DWI. Meagher was charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving and DWI. He was released to a friend.

  Suspicious Incident – Aug 02, 2007: A township resident was out for a walk when she observed a grenade lying down in the leaves along the side of Long Road. She picked up the grenade and put it in her car, then drove it to police headquarters. A NJ State Police Trooper from the Bomb Squad responded, identified the grenade and x-rayed it concluding it was inert. The grenade was turned over to the Trooper.

  Burglary & Theft – Aug 02, 2007: A vehicle parked on Mount Pleasant Avenue was entered and an IPOD, holder, and charger were taken from the vehicle. It is unknown if the doors were locked. No suspects.

  Burglary & Theft – Aug 02, 2007: Between 8:30pm on 8/01 and 7:00am on 8/02, a vehicle parked on Chambers Court was entered. An IPOD, stand, and charger were taken. The doors were left unlocked and there are no suspects.

  Burglary & Theft – Aug 02, 2007: A vehicle parked on Ardsley Lane was entered between 4:45pm on 8/01 and 8:15am on 8/02. A Magellan Roadmate and approximately $30 in dollars and change were taken from the vehicle. The vehicle was left unlocked and there are no suspects.

  Criminal Mischief – Aug 02, 2007: Between 10:49pm on 8/01 and 3:00am on 8/02, a vehicle parked at the Top of the Hill Tavern was damaged. The damage showed that an unknown actor(s) dented the driver’s side doors and rear passenger side door by kicking them. No suspects.

  Theft – Aug 02, 2007: An unknown actor(s) took a Samsung display cellular phone from inside the Verizon store at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The phone had a security strap attached to the faceplate. The phone was missing but the face plate was left attached to the security strap.

  Theft & Forgery – Aug 01, 2007: Luis Diaz (25 yoa) of Manville is suspect in a forgery and theft incident. Diaz is believed to have taken a check from his ex-girlfriend’s unlocked residence, forge her name on the check and cash it. Diaz was subsequently arrested on 8/03 and charged with Forgery, 3rd degree and Theft by Deception 4th degree.

  Theft – Jul 31, 2007: Suspect Danielle Bell took a 2001 Silver Toyota Avalon without the owner’s consent. The Toyota was entered as a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located in Somerville the next day when Bell was arrested for shoplifting. The Toyota was returned to the owner.

  Burglary – July 31, 2007: Between 9:30pm on 7/30 and 8:15am on 7/31 a vehicle parked on Chelsea Way was entered by unknown actor(s). The vehicle may have been unlocked and approximately $218 worth of items were taken from the vehicle. No suspects.

  Shoplifting, Possession of stolen property, and Criminal Mischief – July 31, 2007: Three juvenile shoplifters took approximately $474.50 worth of merchandise from display racks in Abercrombie & Fitch in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Actors ripped off security tag sensors and concealed merchandise in their bags. All actors were returned to their parents.

  Shoplifting – July 31, 2007: Three unknown suspects, each about 20-30 yoa, distracted the employees at Occhiali da Solei in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. As the suspects distracted the employees, they removed approximately $1748.00 worth of merchandise on display racks.

  Burglary – Attempted – July 31, 2007: A patron at the Somerset Patriots Stadium returned to his Mistubishi Gallant and found the driver’s side door lock was punched out and the door frame cracked. The doors were locked and no access was gained. No suspects.

  Criminal Mischief – July 31, 2007: A residence on Red Lion Way had a window broken by a rock. Homeowner advised they have landscapers and believes it may have been caused by a lawnmower. No suspects.

  Criminal Mischief, Burglary, & Theft – July 30, 2007: A manager at the Bridgewater Diner reported the rear door to the Diner was pried open and approximately $2200 in cash was taken. No suspects.

  Industrial Accident – July 30, 2007: An employee from Nitta Casings had his hand injured from being pulled into a conveyor belt while attempting to fix it. Bound Brook Rescue Squad responded to transport the employee to Somerset Medical Center.

  Criminal Mischief – July 30, 2007: The garden area at Adamsville Elementary School was entered sometime over the weekend and damaged. A birdhouse was knocked off its post and a water regulator was also damaged. There was a brick found near the smashed birdhouse. No suspects.

  Burglary & Theft – July 30, 2007: Between 10:10pm on 7/29 and 11:35am on 7/30 a vehicle parked on Bradley Lane was opened and $80 was taken from it. The vehicle was left unlocked. No suspects.

  Burglary, Theft & Criminal Mischief – July 29, 2007: Between 10:25pm on 7/28 and 6:17am on 7/29, unknown suspects broke into the Putting shed at the Green Knoll Golf Course. The shed was locked and was shouldered or kicked to gain entry. Once inside the suspects removed a cash bag containing approximately $408. Receipts from Pitch ‘n Putt that were on top of the cash bag were also taken. No suspects.

  MV Stop & DWI – July 29, 2007: Dennemer Demetillo (30 yoa) was stopped on Union Avenue/Route 287 for failure to maintain lane. Sobriety Tests indicated impairment to drive a motor vehicle. Demetillo was subsequently arrested for DWI and was issued summons for Careless driving, DWI, and an Unregistered Vehicle. He was released to a friend.

  Burglary, Theft, & Criminal Mischief – July 28, 2007: The Bound Brook Golf Range was broken into between 9:30pm on 7/27 and 8:26am on 7/29. The actors removed a cash register and damaged the cash register room. Also taken were three key rings with numerous facility keys on each ring and a cordless phone receiver. The cash register was found by Green Brook Police in the Sebring’s Plaza parking lot and was missing the cash drawer. No suspects.

  Theft – July 28, 2007: A female was in the dressing room at Wet Seal in the Bridgewater Commons Mall when her purse was taken from the stall. The purse and contents totaled approximately $200.00.  No suspects.

  Theft – July 28, 2007: A juvenile male advised police he may have left his wallet on his food tray while eating at the food court in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The tray was disposed of and he did not remember putting the wallet in his pocket. The wallet contained ID and approximately $180.00.

  Robbery & Aggravated Assault – July 28, 2007: A male riding his bicycle on Finderne Avenue was approached by a black male suspect, 5’11”, thin build, short hair wearing a white tank top and black jeans. The suspect brandished a knife and while making a slashing motion yelled, “Give me all you got!” The suspect then punched the victim and took his bicycle. Victim requested police pursue the matter to only get his bicycle back.

  Criminal Mischief – July 28, 2007: The driver of a rental vehicle “double parked” next to another vehicle at the Bridgewater Marriott. When the driver returned to his vehicle, he observed the taillight was broken and a rock on the ground near his vehicle. No suspects.

  Simple Assault – July 27, 2007: The victim of a “road rage” incident stated a small black compact car with tinted windows cut him off on Route 22. The car then pulled alongside of the victim and was sprayed in the face with what he believes was pepper spray. The victim called the police and was given first aid by the Bradley Gardens Rescue Squad.

  MV stop & Drug Arrest – July 25, 2007: David Santana (23 yoa) of North Plainfield and Ruben Maldonado (40 yoa) of Easton, PA were arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 west. Santana had two warrants issued for his arrest as well as a suspended driver’s license. Santana was lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail money. Maldonado admitted the drugs were his and was charged with possession of cocaine 3rd degree and possession of marijuana, less than 50grams. Maldonado was released on his own recognizance.

  Shoplifting – July 25, 2007: Express at the Bridgewater Commons Mall was missing 16 pairs of pants from a display rack. The pants had security tags and the store’s alarm never activated. No suspects.

  Shoplifting & Criminal Mischief – July 25, 2007: Ali Cameron (18 yoa) of Middlesex and a juvenile were arrested at Bloomingdales in the Bridgewater Commons Mall for shoplifting 3 pairs of pants. A security tag was removed from the pants, causing damage. Cameron was charged with shoplifting and released on her own recognizance.

  Industrial Accident – July 24, 2007: An employee of Mazzocchi Wrecking was cut by a two-handed demolition saw he was using. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

  Burglary & Criminal Mischief – July 24, 2007: Between 7/21 & 7/24 a business located at the Villa Plaza was broken into. There was also a window pried out and a window screen pried open. Entry could not be gained due to metal bars. A hammer head that was used to pry open the windows was found and fingerprints were taken from the window. No suspects.

  Criminal Mischief – July 24, 2007: The utility room door at Villa Plaza was dented by an unknown object. The handle to the hammer head from the above burglary was found near the utility room door. No suspects.

  Motor Vehicle Theft – July 24, 2007: A Gold 1997 Jeep Cherokee was taken from the Bridgewater Train Station lot. It was last seen @ 5:45am in the parking lot. The vehicle was later recovered in Newark on 7/26.

  DWI – July 24, 2007:  At 2:51am Abigail Gordon (25 yoa) was stopped for reckless driving and subsequently arrested for DWI. Gordon was charged with driving with suspended license, reckless driving, and DWI. She was released to a friend.

  Criminal Mischief – July 23, 2007:  The Gazebo at Adamsville School had decorated trim removed and broken between July 20th and July 23rd. There are no suspects.

  Criminal Mischief – July 23, 2007: A residence on Wexford Way had its basement window broken by a beer bottle. The damage was not large enough to gain access to the residence. No suspects.

  Burglary & Theft – July 23, 2007: An unlocked vehicle parked on Danberry Lane was entered between 11:30pm on 7/23 and 5:30am on 7/24. A Tom Tom navigation unit and IPOD Nano were taken from the vehicle. No suspects.

  Shoplifting – July 22, 2007:  Linda North (60 yoa) of Dunellen was arrested for shoplifting $73.49 worth of merchandise from Macy’s. North was charged with shoplifting and released on her own recognizance.

  House Fire - July 21, 2007:  A residence on Boyer Drive sustained fire damage to the vinyl siding of the garage after a lit cigarette was thrown into the mulch in front of the house. The North Branch, Bradley Gardens, Country Hills and Green Knoll Fire Departments responded.

  Criminal Mischief – July 21, 2007:  A picnic table at Shady Lane Park was defaced with Blue and Green spray paint.

  Burglary, Theft & Criminal Mischief – July 20, 2007: Between 7/20 and 7/24 unknown suspects entered the storage shed at the Jewish Community Center. Multiple sports items were removed from the shed and not returned. The shed was sprayed with white spray paint as well as other athletic equipment.

  Theft – July 20, 2007:  The complainant at Express in the Bridgewater Commons Mall gave a limited description of a Hispanic male approximately 40 years of age, wearing dark clothing and a Hispanic female approximately 40 years of age, wearing a dark striped shirt and dark pants are suspects in a theft of 24 “City Shorts” and 34 Camisole shirts taken from a display rack at Express. This happened between 3:45pm and 4:20pm.

  Burglary & Theft – July 19: While at the Green Knoll Grille, a patron left his vehicle with Prestige Parking services to valet his car. When he returned to his vehicle, he observed his car stereo amplifier and 2 x 10” subwoofer box was removed from the trunk. There are no signs of forced entry, suggesting a key was used.

  Theft & Criminal Mischief – July 19, 2007:  Unknown actor(s) removed a mailbox on Crim Road and damaged the mailbox post during the night.

  MV Stop & Marijuana Arrest – July 16, 2007: Michael Cortes (19 yoa) of Plainfield was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia during a motor vehicle stop. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50gms, failure to wear seatbelt, and violating a provisional license restriction. Cortes was released under his own recognizance.

  Driving While Intoxicated – July 15, 2007:  On July 15, 2007, James S. Nelson (38 years of age) of Three Bridges was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  Police received a telephone call through dispatch about a motorist swerving while traveling west on USHY 22.  Nelson was stopped and administered field sobriety tests.   He was processed and issued a summons for DWI and failure to maintain a lane.  Nelson was released to the custody of a friend.

  Gas Leak – July 14, 2007:  A report was received of a gas leak at Costco on July 14, 2007.  General Manager Mike Freeman stated the building was being evacuated due to a gas leak in the southwest corner of the building.  Freeman stated that the accident was caused by a forklift which struck an overhead heating unit. An officer conducted a check of the building and confirmed the building was evacuated.  The Finderne Fire Department and Rescue Squad arrived on the scene.    After speaking with the Distribution Supervisor for PSEG, Ron Hupp, the officer found that the gas was turned off to the building.  A reading revealed that there were no further gas leaks.  Township Construction Official Steve Rodzinak and Township Health Official Chris Poulsen were contacted.

  Burglary & Theft – July 13, 2007: Sometime between 7/12 & 7/13 a vehicle with its doors unlocked parked on Holman Court was entered. A cell phone was taken from the car. No suspects.

  Driving While Intoxicated  – July 13, 2007:  On July 13, 2007, William J. Fischer of Manville (36 years of age) was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  Police observed a vehicle swerving from side to side in the left lane of USHY 22 East.  The vehicle was also observed crossing the yellow line on the left shoulder and changed lanes without a turn signal.  Police stopped Fischer and conducted a field sobriety test which he failed.   Fisher was processed and issued a summons for DWI and failure to maintain a lane.  He was released to the custody of a friend. 

  Hindering Apprehension of Self – July 13, 2007:  Police observed a car traveling on USHY 22 west displaying a tag hanging from a rear view mirror causing an obstruction of view.  After an investigation of the license plate, police determined the car was not registered.  The driver, Henry Claudio (30 years of age), did not have a valid driver’s license and had a fictitious insurance card.   Claudio was charged with Hindering Apprehension of Self, presenting a fraudulent insurance card and other charges.  Claudio was transported to the Somerset County Jail. 

  Criminal Mischief – July 11, 2007:  Three vehicles had their tires slashed/punctured while on Valley View Drive. There are no suspects.

  Shoplifting - July 11, 2008:  Akua Akgui (40yoa) from Piscataway was arrested at Macy’s for shoplifting a dress valued at $19.  Akgui was processed and released pending court.

  Driving While Intoxicated – July 8, 2007:  On July 8, 2007, Jorge Villacis-Garces (24 years of age) of North Plainfield was arrested.  He was charged for Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Maintain Lanes while traveling east on USHY 22.  He was subsequently released to his brother.

   Criminal Mischief – July 8, 2007On July 8, 2007, Douglas Campbell of the Somerset Hills Estate Association reported a burglary on Arthur Road.  Upon arrival, an officer determined that it was criminal mischief.  The officer discovered numerous chairs, umbrellas, potted plants, and a white board placed in the pool.  It was determined that the suspect had gained entry by climbing over the fence.    At this time, there are no suspects.

   Loitering in Park After Sundown – July 8, 2007As an officer was patrolling the area of Chimney Rock Park, on July 9, 2007, he observed two trespassers, Eric Goodkind (19 years of age) of Branchburg, and Thomas Guzman, (18 years of age) of Bridgewater loitering in the park after sundown.  Both were advised that they were under arrest and were transported to police headquarters.  Both were released.

  Simple Assault:  July 8, 2008:  Bracha Frank was arrested at Costco for slapping a gentleman in the face after he allegedly took her parking space.  Frank was charged with Simple Assault, processed and released pending court.

  Shoplifting - July 7, 2007:  Three individuals were arrested for shoplifting approximately $7,000 in merchandise from eleven stores at the Bridgewater Commons Mall Saturday.  Luis Alvarado (32yoa) from Flushing New York, Geoconda Gomez-Morales (29yoa) of Elizabeth New Jersey, and Theresa Rodriguez (54yoa) from Pembroke Pines Florida, were all charged with 3rd degree Shoplifting, possession of Burglar’s Tools, and Exhibiting False Documents 3rd degree.  All three were processed and lodged in Somerset County Jail with bail to be set at a later date.

 

  Burglary - July 7, 2007:  The owner of  a 2004 Toyota Corolla reported that while shopping at the mall, someone smashed the driver side window of her vehicle and removed the GPS unit from the dash board. The loss of property is estimated to be approximately $1,000.

  Structure Fire:  July 6th:  On 07/05/07 at 0225 hours., officer responded to the area of Van Holten Rd for a report of a smell of smoke in the air. The victim(s) shed was on fire in his backyard. The Fire Departments extinguished the burning shed.

  Hindering:  July 5th:  Kevin Green, (29 YOA), from Newark was arrested for hindering his own apprehension by providing a false name and address to police.  Further investigation revealed that Green was wanted for a NJ parole violation and an aggravated assault charge.  Green was issued a complaint warrant for Hindering and a motor vehicle summons for Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.

  Motor Vehicle Theft:  July 5th:  Officers on patrol stopped Joseph Columbano of Manville, (36 YOA) on a motor vehicle violation and found him to have outstanding warrants and to be in possession of a stolen cell phone. He was further charged with motor vehicle theft of a vehicle from the Bridgewater Commons Mall.  Columbano’s  passenger, Joseph Costin of Plainsboro, (40 YOA) was also found to have three active warrants against him and was arrested. Also arrested as a result of this investigation were Brian Neumann of Mahwah , (29 YOA) and Lindsay Krause of Waldwick, (27 YOA).  Both Neumann and Krause had active warrants against them. 

  Shoplifting:  On July 4, 2007, unknown persons shoplifted over $4,000.00 worth of shirts from the Abercrombie and Fitch store at the Bridgewater Commons Mall.

  Shoplifting:  On July 4, 2007, Ian Weeks of Bridgewater, (19 YOA), was arrested for shoplifting  clothing from Macy’s at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. 

  Criminal Mischief & Burglary – July 3, 2007: Unknown suspects entered the Martinsville Exxon and attempted to open the safe. No damage was done to the door, suggesting possible key entry. The safe was not opened

  Possession of CDS Paraphernalia – July 3, 2007On July 3, 2007, Michael Preter (19 years of age) of Martinsville was arrested during a motor vehicle stop for possession of drug paraphernalia.   An officer observed drug paraphernalia in his car with evidence of marijuana when he was stopped for a non-operating headlight.  He was released on his own recognizance.

  Criminal Mischief:  On July 3, 2007, an unknown person spray painted graffiti on the north side of the David-Standard building, South Adamsville Road, Bridgewater.                                           

  Suspicious Incident, Attempted Theft & Extortion – July 2: An employee of Somerset County Vocational Technical High School received an email allegedly from a person who had been hired to kill him. The sender offered to tell the victim the name of the person who had hired him in exchange for $8000.00.   The email was traced to the United Arab Emirates.

  DWI – July 2:  At 12:59 AM an erratic driver was stopped by Somerville Police on East Main Street in Bridgewater.  The stop was turned over to Bridgewater Police who arrested Jose A. Quesada-Chacon (39 yoa) for DWI.  An arrest warrant with bail of $2500.00 from Bound Brook was located for Quesada-Charon.  He was charged with DWI and lodged in the Somerset County jail  when he was unable to post the bail on the warrant.

  Theft – July 2:   The Limited at the Bridgewater Commons reported the theft of $759.00 worth of Bra Camery Lace Shirts from a display table.  The theft occurred between 8:30 PM and 8:45 PM.

  Theft, Fraud, Bad Checks – July 2:  Two altered / counterfeit American Express $100.00 gift cheques were used to pay for gift cards at E&B Games on US 202.  The two suspects are described as black females, one had a thin build the other was heavy set with yellow / orange hair.

  Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon – July 2:  Four friends were drinking beer in the parking lot outside the victim’s apartment on Dartmouth Avenue.  At approximately 7:00 PM a neighbor, later identified as Douglas W. Clark (36 yoa) came out of his apartment onto the balcony and told the group to stop drinking or he was going to call the police. The victim “mouthed off” at Clark who went back into his apartment.  Clark returned armed with an aluminum baseball bat and confronted the victim. After exchanging words Clark struck the victim in the arm, back and leg.  The victim was transported to Somerset Medical Center where it was ascertained that he  sustained minor injuries. Clark was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, 3rd degree and unlawful possession of a weapon, 4th degree. Clark was lodged in the Somerset County jail with a bail hearing scheduled  for the morning of July 3rd.

  Simple Assault:  On July 1st, 2 juveniles and 2 adults, Araua Gabriel (20yoa) and Jesus-Bermudez-Vega, Geiner(21 yoa)  were arrested after an altercation that resulted bodily injury. All subjects were charged with simple assault.

  Possession of Marijuana – July 1:   At 6:32 PM Solomon Jones (28 yoa) was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on US 22 west. Investigation revealed that he was in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.  He was charged with the possession of the marijuana and failure to wear a seatbelt.  He was released on his own recognizance.

  Suspicious Incident- July 1:  At 6:50 PM a suitcase was found tied to a lumber rack at Home Depot in the Finderne section of Bridgewater.  The New Jersey State Police bomb squad was called and determined that it contained ice and frozen food items.  The owner of the suitcase has not been located nor has any reason been established concerning why it was abandon.

  Driving While Intoxicated – June 30:   At 7:45 PM John Proctor (61 yoa) of Somerville was arrested for DWI on East Main Street in Bridgewater. He was charged with failure to observe a signal and DWI.  He was released to a friend.

  Burglary - June 30, 2007:  There were two incidents of theft reported by residents of Grimm Drive. Both victims had property removed from their parked vehicles sometime during the night.  A cell phone, i-pod, and other electronic equipment valued at about $400 was taken from the first car.  A utility knife and loose change valued at $20 was removed from the second vehicle.

  Theft - June 30:   $114.01 worth of gas was stolen from the Hess gas station on US 22 west.  At 8:00 AM a white male, approximately 35 years of age, short black hair and medium build, wearing a burgundy shirt and black shorts purchased the above items and left without paying for them.  He was operating an older model silver van.  It was filled with carpeting stacked to the roof.   The word Middlesex was on the side in black letters.

  Theft June 29th:  $300 .00 cash was taken from a filing cabinet in an office at Fourth Ave in Bridgewater.

  Burglary - June 28, 2007:  Resident of Foothill Road reported a locker bag containing baseball equipment valued at $300 was removed from his parked vehicle sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

  Driving While Intoxicated – Underage:  June 28:  Officers responded to a one car motor vehicle crash on Murfield Lane. Investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle was Bethany A Tromer (18 yoa) of Bridgewater.  She was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  Tromer was charged with DWI, DWI under 21 years of age, careless driving and using a handheld device (cell phone) while driving.    She was released to a family member.

  Theft:  June 27:  Mark A Dhuyvetter (24 yoa) was arrested for theft of over $5500.00 worth of merchandise from Swarovski at the Bridgewater Commons.  Dhuyvetter was an employee of Swarovski and committed the thefts over a number of days. He was charged with theft and released on his own recognizance.

  Shoplifting, Possession of Burglary Tools:  June 26:  Nail Akhmetzyanov (19 yoa), Dina Idrisova (20 yoa), Oleg Galiev (20 yoa) and Viadislav Lunev (20 yoa) were arrested for shoplifting from Lord & Taylor’s. All individuals are from Bridgewater. The individuals used a gravity knife to remove price tags on items before placing the items in bags.  They were arrested as they attempted to leave the store. They were lodged in the Somerset County jail in default of $1000.00 bail each.

  Theft of Motor Vehicle – June 23:  A 2001 2 door Honda Accord was stolen from the Bridgewater Commons Mall between 10:05 AM and 11:30 AM. The owner’s insurance and registration information was in the vehicle and the keys are missing.  Glass at the scene indicated that entry was gained by force.

  Driving While Intoxicated:  June 23rd:  On June 23 at 11:55 PM officers responded to a civilian complaint of a possible drunk driver on US 22 westbound in the area of Adamsville Road.  Investigation revealed the offender was Anita M Thompson (42 yoa) of Bridgewater.  She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and released to a family member after processing.

  Shoplifting: June 22nd: Sulay Alvarez-Sandoval (25 yoa) and Sandra Alvarez-Sandoval (22 yoa), both from Plainfield, were arrested for shoplifting from Bloomingdale’s.  The women removed price tags from items, placed the items in bags and tried to leave the store.  They were issued complaint summons and released.

  Theft:  A Piscataway man faces theft by deception charges after, police said, he used the Best Buy store computer to make fictitious returns to gift cards and then exchanged the gift cards for cash.  An officer responded to the Commons Way store at 12:05 p.m. June 12 and met with store management and security staff.  According to the report, the store staff noticed that Devin Smalls, 22, made fictitious returns for items, mostly Xbox 360 systems. Smalls, who was an employee at the store, was one of nine employees who could exchange the gift cards for cash. The fraudulent transactions amounted to $1,567.88 May 29 and May 30, according to the report.  Smalls was arrested after police noticed he had an outstanding $500 traffic warrant from Scotch Plains.  After police officers continued their investigation, they charged Smalls with third-degree theft by deception for the Best Buy transactions, according to the report.

  Criminal Mischief:  A man who lives on Washington Valley Road told police that someone smashed one of his car windows with a rock and severely damaged the glass on another vehicle.  According to a police report, officers responded to the man's home at 7:06 a.m. June 7. A rock had smashed through the front driver's side window of the man's tan Acura. A rock also cracked his Volkswagen's window, according to the report.  The victim estimated the damage would cost $700 to fix, according to the report.

  Motorcyclist DUI:  A police officer stopped William Nash, 48, a Flemington motorcyclist, at 6:43 p.m. June 5 on Route 28, near Country Club Road.  Police said Nash, who reportedly said he didn't drink alcohol because he's a recovering alcoholic, failed field sobriety tests. Nash, who didn't have a drivers license with him, was charged with drunken driving and failure to exhibit documents, police said.

  Theft by Deception:  A Perth Amboy man was charged with third-degree theft by deception after he deposited a fictitious $66,000 check in his Financial Resources Federal Credit Union account and then withdrew $8,000, police said.When staff at the credit union on Route 22 told Dennis Jones, 45, that the check, which had been issued by Navy Federal Credit Union was fake, he returned $2,000, police said. Jones told the credit union that he had already given $6,000 to his cousin but said he'd return the money, according to a police report.  Credit union staff called police when Jones didn't return the money, according to the report.  Jones told police that he applied online for a $45,000 loan from the Navy Federal Credit Union, police said. He received a check for $66,000 on May 30, and he said he was so excited to get the loan that he did not question the amount on the check, the report stated. Jones said he was unsure of the terms of the loan but said he was sure he would get a loan repayment book in the mail, according to the police report.  Jones faces charges of third-degree uttering a false document and third-degree theft by deception.

  Fireworks Possession Charge:  A Bridgewater man was charged with possession of fireworks. He had 43 bottle rockets and 320 firecrackers, police said.  Police responded to Walnut Street at 9:04 p.m. May 28 after several complaints of fireworks exploding in the area.  The officer parked his car on Walnut Street and walked toward the sound of bottle rockets. The officer arrived at a home on Pine Street and said he saw Harold Houser, 40, lighting a bottle rocket in his driveway. Houser turned the fireworks over to police. The officer told Houser that he would receive a summons in the mail.

  DUI:  A Somerville man was charged with drunken driving, speeding and driving with a suspended license, police said.  Police stopped Ademar Lopez, 46, at 2 a.m. May 19 after he was clocked by police driving 40 mph in a 35 mph zone near the Commerce Bank Ballpark on East Main Street, according to a police report.  Police said Lopez failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently charged with drunken driving, speeding and driving with a suspended license.

  DUI:  A Manville man was charged with drunken driving and failure to stop at a stop sign, police said.  According to the report, James Mark Traister, 26, at 11:46 p.m. May 17 didn't stop at the stop sign from northbound Route 206 north to Route 202, at the Somerville Circle. Police said he drove about 40 miles per hour through the intersection.  Police said Traister failed field sobriety tests and was charged with drunken driving.

  Mortar Shell Found in Home's Shed:  A man inspecting an Ash Street home that his company, American Realty Services Group, bought in a foreclosure sale found what appeared to be a mortar shell in the home's shed, police said.  Police and the New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad responded to the home at 11:59 a.m. May 17. The bomb squad took an X-ray of the shell and that there was no gunpowder inside. Members of the squad determined the large silver-colored shell was for display purposes only, according to the police report.

  Shoplifting:  A New Hampshire woman was charged with shoplifting after police said she stuffed clothing in her oversized purse and left a store with out paying for the items.  Police responded to Bloomingdale's in the Bridgewater Commons mall at 2:51 p.m. May 15 and met with a store security officer. The security officer told police she followed Gail Stafford, 50, through the juniors department.  Stafford took a $138 French Connection jacket and an $88 French Connection sweater into the dressing room, according to the report.  Stafford ripped off the items' tags, put the clothing in her purse and left the store, police said.

  Fire:  A deck caught fire when some nearby paint supplies ignited, police said.  Police, the Martinsville Fire Company and Martinsville Rescue Squad responded at 5:28 p.m. May 15 to a Weemac Road house after a report of a brush fire.  The homeowner told police that a fire broke out among some supplies being used to reseal her deck. A neighbor tried to extinguish the fire with a garden hose, according to a police report.  A police officer arrived and was able to extinguish the fire with the garden hose before the fire company arrived, the report stated.  The deck, which is not attached to the house, was damaged and several nearby trees were scorched, according to the report.  The cause of the fire was undetermined.

  ROBBERY:  12:30 a.m. May 6: Police are trying to find a robber who threatened two AMC Bridgewater Commons with a butcher knife and got away with thousands of dollars. No one was hurt during the attack in the movie theatre at the Bridgewater Commons, police said.  The robber, a man wearing all black and a ski mask, reportedly entered an office and demanded the money on the table and ordered the employees to open the safe, police said. The robber locked the employees in a closet. The victims called police using a cell phone, police said.

  Theft:  A woman told police that someone stole her purse while she was eating at the Bridgewater Commons mall food court.  The woman on May 5 put her purse -- a brown leather St. John's handbag -- on the chair next to her, and saw it missing when she was about to leave, according to a report.  The woman checked the area around her but could not find the bag, which contained several credit cards, her cell phone and about $50 cash, police said.  Another officer found the woman's bag the following day during an unrelated robbery investigation, police said. Everything but the $50 cash was inside the bag, according to the report.

  Theft:  Someone pulled two newly planted Japanese maple trees from front yards on Milltown Road, police said.  Police responded to a Milltown Road home at 8:05 a.m. May 5 after the homeowner reported that a tree was missing, according to a police report.  Police saw a hole in the ground where the tree once stood and a mulch trail leading north on Milltown Road for approximately 70 feet. Then, according to the report, the officer noticed that one of the man's neighbors also had a missing tree. Police were unable to contact that homeowner, according to the report.

  PURSUIT:  Police followed a man who sped off during a motor vehicle stop just inside the Somerville border, police Lt. Todd Koller said. A Bridgewater police officer pulled a car over at 11:11 a.m on May 3rd. Thursday on North Bridge Street, police said. The registered owner, a female, had an outstanding warrant for a seatbelt violation. As the officer got out of the car, the driver, a man, fled. Police followed the car onto eastbound Route 22 and onto Interstate 287, Koller said. The chase ended near Weston Canal Road because the seatbelt violation didn't fall within the guidelines to engage in a pursuit, Koller said. The investigation is ongoing, Koller said. Police will attempt to contact the registered owner.

  Theft:  Someone took a patio table, an umbrella and 10 chairs from La Piazza restaurant, police said.  The owner of the establishment at 1979 Washington Valley Road told police that he closed the restaurant at 10 p.m. April 28. When he arrived at 11:30 a.m. the next morning, the patio furniture was gone, according to the report.  The owner estimated the patio furniture's value at $1,000, police said.

  DUI:  A Franklin man was charged with drunken driving after an officer saw his vehicle swerve into a lane four times, police said.  Police stopped Randy Bartushak, 37, of the Somerset section of Franklin at 12:13 a.m. April 27 on eastbound Route 22, near Adamsville Road. Bartushak failed field sobriety tests, according to a police report.  Police charged Bartushak with drunken driving and failure to maintain lane, according to the report.

  Theft:  A Dunellen man's bicycle was stolen after he rode it to Target, police said.  Police responded at 10:20 p.m. April 23 to the store, 200 Promenade Blvd., to investigate a report of a stolen bicycle.  A 20-year-old man told police that he rode his bicycle, a yellow, black and gray 20-inch Shimano mountain bike, to the store at about 9:30 p.m. When he finished shopping about 25 minutes later, his bicycle was missing. The lock remained on the rack and was not damaged, according to a police report.

  DUI:  A man who passed a police car at 83 mph on East Main Street was charged with drunken driving and speeding, police said.  The speed limit on East Main Street is 40 mph.  Jason Dean Bylina, 24, reportedly skidded to a stop and had pulled his vehicle into his family's three-car garage on East Main Street when the police officer caught up with him, according to a police report.  Bylina told police he had four beers and had been at a bowling alley with his girlfriend, according to the report.  Bylina refused to do sobriety tests without an attorney present and was charged with drunken driving and speeding, police said.

  DUI:  A Somerville man was charged with drunken driving in the parking lot of the Time to Eat Diner on Route 206, police said.  Police responded to the Route 206 diner at 2 a.m. April 14 on a report of two suspicious people in a car in the parking lot. Though the car was parked, the engine was running. After an investigation, Montaigne Vanallen was charged with drunken driving, police said.

  DUI:  Police stopped Ivan Valentin, 49, of Somerville, at 12:21 a.m. April 14 near Chimney Rock Road and East Main Street after his green Mercury swerved and went through a red light, according to the police report.  Police charged Valentin with drunken driving, failure to maintain lane and failure to observe a traffic signal.

  Criminal Mischief:  A Bridgewater man told police the rear window of his 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was smashed when he parked it at the Days Inn on Route 22.  The 61-year-old resident told police he parked his car there at about 10 p.m. April 13. When he returned to the vehicle at about 12:10 a.m. April 14, the back window was smashed. Nothing had been removed from the car, police said.

  Automobile Theft:  Stephen Adams, 18, of Plainfield was charged with receiving stolen property after police discovered the vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen.  Adams was stopped after police saw a Nissan Pathfinder swerving on Route 22 near Route 28 at 12:36 a.m. April 11. A check of the vehicle found it had been reported stolen in Dover, police said.  Adams was also charged with failure to maintain lane.

  Theft of Bike:  Someone took a ladies mountain bike from the porch of an Old York Road residence last month, police said.  The victim told police she parked her 17-inch blue bicycle April 5 on the porch of her apartment. The bicycle was not locked, police said. The bicycle was gone when the victim returned home from vacation on April 11, according to a police report.

  Shoplifting:  A Newark man was charged with shoplifting after he put 10 Sawsall blades in his pocket and tried to leave Home Depot on Promenade Boulevard without paying for them, police said.  Edgar Salazar, 31, walked into the store at about 1:30 p.m. April 4 and headed to the tool section, police said. According to the police report, a security officer saw Salazar select 10 Dewalt Sawsall blades, put them in his right hand and then in his pocket.  According to the police report, Salazar went through the checkout line, paid for other items but didn't pay for the blades

  Credit Card Theft:  Police have charged Averil Hilton, 18, of Plainfield with credit-card theft after a woman reported that her wallet and a charge card were stolen and $789 worth of purchases were made at Bridgewater Commons, according to a police report.  The victim attempted to cancel her credit card after it was stolen April 9 but found that the purchases had been made the same day, police said.  Police found that a credit-card transaction at one store had been made 10 minutes prior to the victim's initial report and went to the store, according to the report. Hilton was arrested based on a description, according to the report.

  Shoplifting:  Police charged Louis A. Medeiros, 57, of Somerville with shoplifting $55 worth of merchandise on April 5 from Home Depot, according to a police report.  A security officer saw Medeiros hide two pairs of work gloves and leave the store without paying for them, according to the report. The officer apprehended Medeiros and called police, the report stated.

  Prize Scam:  A Bridgewater resident told police that from March 29 to April 4, she sent a total of $11,808 to a person claiming to be awarding her a cash prize and a Cadillac.  The victim told police that the caller said a "gift tax" of $2,820 was needed to cover $250,000 in prize winnings and gave her an address where to wire the money. Through repeated requests, she wired him $8,988, but he never showed up with the prize check, and further attempts to contact the caller were unsuccessful.

  Bomb Threat:  Police are continuing to investigate a bomb threat earlier this month that led to the evacuation of the Bridgewater Commons Mall.  According to a police report, a man called KB Toys at about 4:12 p.m. April 4, told an employee "there is a bomb in the building" and hung up. The employee called security, who searched the back hallways of the mall and notified police.  The Somerset County Sheriff's Office, a Homeland Security liaison and a representative from the Office of Emergency Management responded to the scene as well as multiple police dog units.  Police found no evidence of a bomb and ended the search at about 9:45 p.m.

Theft:  Police are investigating the theft of more than $2,000 worth of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut in the Village at Bridgewater Commons, police said.  A man came in the store at about 6 p.m. March 31 and started trying on several pairs of sunglasses, according to the police report. He also asked several questions about the merchandise.  The customer left the store after the sales associate went to help another customer. About 20 minutes later, the sales associate noticed six pair of Prada sunglasses -- $225 each -- two pair of Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses -- $250 each -- and one $225 pair of Versace sunglasses had been taken, police said.

  Theft:  Police are investigating the theft of $780 worth of polo shirts from The Express at the Bridgewater Commons. About 40 assorted shirts, valued at $19.50 each, were stolen at about 4:19 p.m. March 31 after the shirts were placed on a display table, police said. A store employee was working on folding the shirts when a female customer asked for assistance. The employee went to help the customer and when she returned, several of the shirts were missing from the display table and some of the shirts were scattered on the table, police said.

  Shoplifting:  Deha Peker, 42, of Franklin, Somerset County, was charged with shoplifting from Bloomingdale's in the Bridgewater Commons at 3 p.m. March 31. Police said Peker placed a Polo golf shirt, Polo sweater, Joseph Aboud slacks, Theory slacks and Burberry tie in a Bloomingdale's shopping bag before leaving the store. Total value of the items is $676.

  Drug Arrest:  A Branchburg man was charged with possession of marijuana during an arrest on charges of driving while intoxicated.  Patrick William Smith, 28, reportedly made an unsafe lane change March 30 on Route 22 West, near Garden Oaks Nursery and was stopped by a Somerset County Prosecutor's Office lieutenant, who waited for a Bridgewater police officer to arrive. Police said Smith failed sobriety tests and was charged with drunken driving.  Smith told the officer there was a small amount of marijuana in the console of his truck, police said. Smith also was charged with driving an uninsured vehicle.

  Theft:  A metal love seat, valued at $300, was reported stolen from the front porch of a Fairmount Avenue residence between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 23.

  Criminal Mischief:  A caretaker at Camp Cromwell on Vosseller Avenue heard the sound of breaking glass and "kids' voices" at about 4:51 p.m. March 13, police said. The caretaker called police.

Police responded and found a window pane on one of the cottages had been broken. Nothing was reported missing

  Stolen Vehicle:  A 2005 Infiniti belonging to a Franklin, Somerset County, resident was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Charles Schwab building, 1170 Route 22, between 9 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. March 13.

  Shoplifting and Hindering:  A Home Depot security officer reportedly watched a New Brunswick man remove a headlamp from its packaging, put it in his coat pocket and leave the store without paying for it, police said.

Police were contacted at 1:33 p.m. March 12 and responded to the Promenade Boulevard store after Walter Velazquez was in custody. Police said Velazquez, 37, gave an incorrect name and date of birth. Police charged Velazquez with shoplifting and hindering apprehension, according to a police report.

  Shoplifting:  A Plainfield woman placed two T-shirts and a wallet under her shirt while she was in the Vans store at the Bridgewater Commons mall and then left the shop without paying for the items, police said.

Jaquila Ransdell, 18, was charged with shoplifting after a mall security officer reportedly watched her take the merchandise and leave the store on March 11, police said.

  Theft:  The theft of a fire extinguisher from Eisenhower School was reported March 10, police said.

The school custodian saw two juveniles remove a fire extinguisher from a hallway outside the gymnasium. The kids exited through the front door, toward the teacher parking lot with the fire extinguisher in hand, according to the report. They walked toward Country Club Road

  Shoplifting:  A Dunellen man faces a shoplifting charge after he stuffed a beige wallet, men's sandals, perfume and cologne down his pants and tried to leave Marshall's without paying for the merchandise, police said.

A Marshall's security officer watched at 5:01 p.m. March 10 as Levan Papalashvili, 29, reportedly took a wallet and other items from display racks in the store and walked quickly past a row of registers, police said.

Levan told police he did not speak English, according to a police

  House Fire:  Two pit bulls, two rabbits, a rat and possibly, one snake were killed in a Bridgewater Avenue home fire on March 9, police said. An English Mastif dog and one rat survived the fire that damaged the split-level residence.

The tenants of 590 Bridgewater Ave., William and Lenise Mothner, were not home at the time of the fire, police said.

Authorities, including Finderne Fire Department, responded to the fire at 11:05 p.m. The blaze was brought under control about 45 minutes later.

The fire started in the living room on the home's first floor. The cause does not appear to be suspicious but remains under investigation, according to authorities.

Finderne was assisted at the scene by the Somerville Fire Department, Bound Brook Fire Department, Manville Fire Department, Finderne Rescue Squad and Bound Brook Rescue Squad.The Bridgewater Township Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating.

  Shoplifting: A man took two bottles of cognac from Elliott Beverages on Union Avenue at about 7:42 p.m. March 3 and left the store without paying for them, police said.

The man was last seen driving a green Jeep Cherokee east on Union Avenue.

  Shoplifting:  A Bedminster man was charged with shoplifting after a Lord & Taylor security officer reportedly saw him leave the store wearing a T-shirt and polo shirt he had tried on but did not buy, police said.

A security officer had watched Alfredo Sulit, whose age was not provided, on closed circuit television, according to the report.

The total value of the merchandise alleged taken at 3:34 p.m. on March 1 was $105.

  MVA:  SUV COLLISION, 2 a.m. Feb. 25: Bibi Khan, 40, of Gillette was injured when her SUV hit two telephone poles on eastbound Route 22, police Sgt. Steve Jurczak said. Khan veered off the road between Chimney Rock Road and Thompson Avenue, struck one telephone pole and then another, Jurczak said. Khan was taken to Somerset Medical Center in Somerville with a knee injury and a minor concussion, he said. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing, Jurczak said.

 Criminal Mischief:  A Randolph woman who parked her vehicle outside Macy's at the Bridgewater Commons mall told police someone smashed her windshield.

The 38-year-old woman told police she parked her 2004 Honda Pilot there at about 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 24.

She found the windshield smashed about four hours later, according to a police report. Police found a large landscaping rock in front of the vehicle.

  DUI and MV Charges:  A 20-year-old Bernards man was charged with underage drinking, drunk driving and speeding after he was stopped on Interstate 287 at 4:02 a.m. Feb. 23.

A Bridgewater officer spotted a vehicle driving 80 miles per hour on the 65 miles per hour highway. The officer stopped the driver, Marco Casimiro, and noticed he had watery, bloodshot eyes, according to a police report. The officer asked Casimiro if he knew why he was stopped. Casimiro reportedly answered, "Sorry, I was going 80," according to the report. Casimiro told the officer that he had not been drinking alcohol.

Police said Casimiro failed a field sobriety test. He was charged with underage drinking, drunken driving and speeding and was released to his mother.

  Shoplifting:  Officers responded to Lord & Taylor at the Bridgewater Commons after a Plainfield man attempted to steal two shirts, police said.

Mike Nguyen, 18, attempted to leave the store at about 7:53 p.m. Feb. 21 after removing the security tags on two Lacoste polo shirts, police said. Nguyen was charged with shoplifting.

  SHOPLIFTING:  Robison Gudiel Lemus Perez, 26, of New Brunswick was charged with shoplifting at about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Home Depot in the Bridgewater Promenade, police said.

Authorities said Lemus Perez put a multi-tool valued at $69.86 in his pants pocket and left the store without paying for it.

  CDS Arrest:  Following a traffic stop for speeding on Route 22 at 12:26 a.m. Feb. 18, police charged Angie Luis-Rivera, 27, of Harrisburg, Pa., with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.

On approaching the car, the police officer saw the marijuana on the lap of Luis-Rivera, the passenger, who admitted ownership of the marijuana, police said. 

  SHOPLIFTING, HINDERING, HARASSMENT:  A Staten Island, N.Y., man was charged with harassment and hindering apprehension after he and three other individuals attempted to shoplift items from the Bloomingdale's department store at Bridgewater Commons, police said.

Jason Mathurine, 27, grabbed the arm of a security guard at the store, preventing her from chasing the three other individuals, police said. Mathurine was taken to Somerset County Jail after the incident Feb. 11, police said. Bail was set at $2,500 cash.

  SHOPLIFTING:  Police are looking for two women who escaped security at Bloomingdale's after attempting to steal $340 worth of merchandise at 2:14 p.m. Feb. 11, police said.

A loss-prevention officer for the department store reported seeing both women leave the store without paying for clothing and confronted them, according to a police report. One woman pushed the officer, and both women ran into a nearby parking lot, the report stated. Police were unable to find them, according to the report.

Police said the women were described as black, one of whom was 5-feet 6-inches tall, weighing about 135 pounds, having long hair and wearing a blue suit. The other was described as 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds, having long hair and wearing a brown vest and tan boots.

  THEFT:  An employee at Abercrombie and Fitch in the Bridgewater Commons reported to police that $3,115 worth of merchandise had been stolen from tabletops throughout the store sometime from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. Feb. 9.

  DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED, Feb. 9: Mario Torres, 38, of Linden was charged with driving while intoxicated on East Main Street. Torres was released on his own recognizance.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED, Feb. 9: Jensil Rodriguez, 37, of Bridgewater was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving without headlights after a traffic stop on East Main Street.

  THEFT:  Police responded Feb. 5 to 100 Corporate Drive to investigate a burglary attempt on a vehicle. The victim's 1999 Mercedes Benz 320 had been parked on the ground floor deck across from Corporate Boulevard since 8 a.m. Feb. 2, a Friday. The victim, who lives in Long Valley, said she went to her car at 5 p.m. and proceeded home.

The following Monday the victim realized her driver side door handle was broken. She suspects the attempted burglary of her car may have occurred on Feb. 2 in the parking because she saw police investing a similar incident near her car that afternoon.

The officer found a round hole in the sheet metal of the door just below the handle and the plastic door trim had been damaged.

  GRAFFITI, 1:11 a.m. Feb. 5: Some time between December and Feb. 5, graffiti was sprayed on the side of a warehouse on South Adamsville Road.

  SHOPLIFTING:  Police were dispatched to Target in the Bridgewater Promenade at 1:35 p.m. Feb. 5 in response to a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Target's loss prevention officer told police that while monitoring the store she observed Shannon M. Obit, 27, of Somerville in the electronics section with a shopping cart containing two winter coats. Obit was observed at the DVD display, randomly selecting several at a time, placing the items in the cart and covering them up with the coats, police said. This procedure was observed numerous times, police said.

A store officer was sent to the floor to monitor Obit, who then moved to the shoe section where she placed shoes and socks in the cart., police said. She then went to the men's section, where Obit was seen with several plastic Target shopping bags into which she put all the items and left the bags in the cart, police said. Obit then walked toward the exit doors, where she was stopped, police said.

Obit was charged with shoplifting and released on her own recognizance with a court date.

  VEHICLE BURGLARIES:  Police are investigating eight vehicle burglaries along the Route 22 corridor on Feb. 2.

In an afternoon blitz lasting several hours, someone punched or pulled through driver’s side door locks of eight luxury cars parked in parking lots around the Bridgewater Commons and Somerset Corporate Center. Someone ransacked glove compartments and stole drivers’ manuals, insurance and registration cards, as well as other forms of identification.

Some victims reported electronics, CDs and telephone headsets that were not removed from the car. However, at least one victim reported an iPod stolen.

Police said a ninth break-in that day was unsuccessful but not reported until the next Monday.

  THEFT:  Police responded to a report that two unidentified women left the Applebee's on Promenade Boulevard without paying their $48 bill around 9:33 p.m. Feb. 1.

When their server observed them leaving the restaurant and asked them for payment, they told her it was on the table. When she found only one dollar on the table, she went outside to try and catch the women, who were seen leaving the parking lot heading east on Route 28, according to a police report

  THEFT:  Authorities were able to record the license plate of a white Honda Civic that fled a Bridgewater Commons parking lot after its two occupants attempted to steal at least one phone from the Verizon Wireless store, police said.

The attempted shoplifting at 6:46 p.m. Jan. 30 was reported after a salesperson reacted to a store alarm and detained two suspects near the store exit, according to a police report. The employee saw a Samsung phone up the sleeve of one man and got it back after confronting him about it, according to the report. Upon returning the phone to its display unit, the salesperson found missing another phone, valued at $619.99.

Two Bridgewater police officers en route to the store saw mall security chasing two men, each about 20 years old and of medium build, toward an exit.

Mall security officers lost sight of the men but were able to record the license plate of their vehicle, the report stated.

In addition, Verizon Wireless told authorities that a copy of a video surveillance tape in the store would be made available.

  DRUG POSSESSION:  Following a motor vehicle stop at 10:04 a.m. Jan. 29 in the area of Route 22 and Gaston Avenue, Camilo E. Alvarez, 31, of Boston, Mass., was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  In addition to discovering that Alvarez had an active warrant from Raritan Township for $230, the officer, Ryan Cerro, noticed a pack of Marlboro cigarettes that contained a ceramic cigarette-style smoking pipe. Its blackened tip also smelled of burnt marijuana, police said. A small clear plastic bag containing a vegetative matter also was located in the center console and field-tested positive for marijuana.

  SHOPLIFTING:  Jamie L. Bass, 27, of Branchburg was charged Jan. 29 with the theft of a gray dress valued at $158 from Bloomingdale's, located in the Bridgewater Commons.

Police say the store's loss prevention supervisor observed Bass remove several display items from the racks, including the gray dress, and enter a dressing room. Bass was observed exiting without any items in her hands. When the supervisor then looked in the dressing room, a security tag was laying on the floor and the gray dress was not seen.

Bass was then detained in the store, with the gray dress found stuffed in her purse, police said. She was charged with shoplifting. Bass told police she used a cuticle cutter to cut the security tag.

While retrieving Bass's identification from her vehicle, with Bass accompanying the officer, observed in plain sight was a small amount of marijauna. Bass also was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of burglary tools.

She was released on her own recognizance with a court date.

  FORGED INSTRUMENTS, POSSESSION OF SIMULATED DOCUMENTS, AND THEFT BY DECEPTION:  On 1-27-07 a Bronx, N.Y., woman was arrested Saturday at Bloomingdale's at the Bridgewater Commons mall after she used counterfeit $100 bills to pay for a designer handbag and was found to have three fake New Jersey driver's licenses in her purse, police said.

In addition to using the counterfeit bills to pay for a Coach bag, officers found in Shirley De Los Santos' purse additional fake $100 bills, driver's licenses in her name that matched up to information for residents in Edison, Dayton and North Brunswick, police said. A further computer check by police determined that those residents were not identity theft victims, according to a police report.

De Los Santos was charged with uttering a forged instrument, possession of a simulated document and theft by deception, police said.

  COUNTERFEIT BILL:  Police were called to the Jo-Ann's Hallmark in the Somerset Shopping Center 7:14 p.m. Jan. 27 to investigate a counterfeit bill. The cashier related that while clearing out large bills from the register for deposit at 6:30 p.m., she found a $20 bill that "looked strange" and did not "feel normal." She then used a water mark pen to test the bill's authenticity, which proved the bill to be a fake.

The bill was taken to police headquarters, where a Secret Service special agent was working on another case. The agent confirmed the bill to be counterfeit.

  SHOPLIFTING:  On 1-27-07  Justin L. Murray, 25, of Plainfield and Mark Herring, 25, of Jersey City were charged with shoplifting from Lord & Taylor at the Bridgewater Commons mall, police said.

Police said the men worked in tandem. Herring selected men's items and brought them to a register manned by Murray, who then scanned only two sweaters for purchase by credit card, for a total of $170, according to a police report.

Murray then immediately credited Herring's credit card for the $170, placed all of the purchased items into a shopping bag and handed it to Herring, who left the store before being apprehended, according to the report. The theft was recorded by closed-circuit TV, police said.

Murray and Herring were charged with shoplifting, posted bail and were released. Murray was also found to have an outstanding motor vehicle warrant out of Scotch Plains for $500.

  SHOPLIFTING:  Melanie Samouhos, 51, of Pittstown was charged with shoplifting from Wegmans Food Markets, 724 Route 22.  Store security personnel told police that Samouhos entered the store with a bundle of Wegmans shopping bags and walked through the aisles placing $527.77 worth of merchandise in the bags and her shopping cart, according to a police report.  Security told police that Samouhos wheeled the cart through an unattended checkout lane and out the store through an employee exit, the report stated. She told security she left the store in order to get her checkbook to pay for the groceries, but police said she had in her possession six credit cards and $820 in cash, according to the report.

  OUTSTANDING WARRANTS, MARIJUANA, 11:24 a.m. Jan 24: Michael J. Lynch, 21, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with outstanding warrants and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.

  SHOPLIFTING, 1:42 p.m. Jan 24: Gerald P. Goldfarb, 49, of Edison was charged with shoplifting at Target in the Bridgewater Promenade after security officers observed him placing $387 worth of merchandise in his cart and attempting to leave the store without paying, authorities said.

  MISSING ITEM, 6 p.m. Jan 24: A Long Valley resident reported a $300 laptop missing while shopping at Bridgewater Commons. After getting the laptop repaired, the victim noticed neither she or her son were carrying it, and they were unable to locate it in the stores that they had been shopping in earlier, police said.

  CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  A Yorktown Road resident reported at 8:24 a.m. Jan. 24 that the rear window on his 1994 Eagle Summit had been smashed between 9 p.m. Jan. 23 and 5:30 Jan. 24. Nothing was reported taken from the vehicle.

   CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, 5:30 a.m. Jan 22: A Glen Road resident told police she returned to her vehicle in the morning to find a large stone smashed through her window. The resident told police nothing was missing from the vehicle. Neighbors told police they did not hear anything overnight.

  DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED, 4:40 a.m. Jan 21: Alexander Shabalkin, 20, of Bedminster was charged with driving while intoxicated, obstructing traffic, failure to park off the roadway and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle on Stella Drive. Shabalkin was released pending an appearance in municipal court.

  IDENTITY THEFT, 12:01 p.m. Jan 20: Someone tried to open a fraudulent credit account at Zales in the Bridgewater Commons, police said. A Morristown resident notified police after her credit card company contacted her about suspicious transaction.

  THEFT FROM VEHICLE, 5:46 a.m. Jan 20: A Barnegat woman told police unknown persons broke into a van parked at the Hilton Garden Inn on Promenade Boulevard between 11:30 p.m. Jan 19 and 5:46 a.m. Jan. 20. The victim reported $4,100 worth of audio equipment stolen. According to the report, police found a second car had been burglarized upon looking around the hotel's parking lot.

  DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED, 3:01 a.m. Jan 19: Caitlyn Napolitano, 22, of Florham Park was charged with driving while intoxicated. She was released on her own recognizance.

  CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, 10:25 p.m. Jan. 16: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief to a commercial building on Route 202. Unknown people broke windows and property, damaged interior walls and vandalized a vehicle parked at a loading dock, according to a police report. The damage is estimated at $3,150.

  SHOPLIFTING, 3:57 p.m. Jan 16: Ty Truong, 38, of Bridgewater was charged with shoplifting $80 worth of merchandise from Costco in the Bridgewater Promenade on East Main Street. Police said a loss prevention officer detained Truong when he saw him cutting into a box of sunglasses with a pair of pliers. Truong was released and given a court date, police said.

 DRUGS, WEAPON, 9:30 p.m. Jan 11: Following a vehicle stop on Route 28, police charged Rigo E. Rivera, 24, of Hillsborough with unlawful possession of prescription drugs and a switchblade. Rivera was released on his own recognizance.

·  BURGLARY, 11:09 p.m. Jan 9: A Stech Drive resident told police he returned home to find a $2,500 large-screen television missing and bedrooms and bathrooms ransacked.

·  SHOPLIFTING, 5:17 p.m. Jan 6: Bianca Rehner, 19, of Long Hill and Amy Mondatori, 19, of Berkeley Heights were charged with shoplifting $319 worth of merchandise from Bloomingdale's and Spencer Gifts at the Bridgewater Commons. According to the police report, a loss prevention officer at Bloomingdale's saw the two cutting security sensor tags from store merchandise and detained them when they tried to leave the store, police said. Upon inspecting their purses, the police officer noticed numerous unpaid items from Spencer Gifts and notified the store, police said.

  THEFT FROM VEHICLE, 1:30 p.m. Jan 5: A Green Brook resident reported the theft of a wallet from her car parked at Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School on Vogt Drive. The 22-year-old woman told police her wallet contained her driver's license, birth certificate, Social Security card and a debit card. The victim said she did not know her wallet was missing until her bank informed her that her debit card was used to purchase gas and an attempt was made to purchase $427 in merchandise at GameStop at the Bridgewater Commons, according to the report.

  IDENTITY THEFT:  A Brooklyn, N.Y. shopper at Lord & Taylor in the Bridgewater Commons reported that her credit card information had been stolen sometime from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 8. She reported receiving bills for items totaling $854 that she did not buy at Lord & Taylor. Police said two additional fraudulent credit cards were used in May's Landing and Atlantic City. Police said the suspect, seen on a surveillance video, is described as about 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing 250 pounds, and wearing a black coat and purple shirt.
