Drug
Arrest – July 1, 2009 @ 0103 hours, Joshua B. Lee, 20,
Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for possession of marijuana during a motor vehicle
stop on Milltown Road. Lee, who was a passenger in the stopped vehicle, was
found to be smoking a marijuana cigarette. He was charged with possession of
CDS under 50 grams and released.
Burglary/Theft – July 1, 2009 @ 0602 hours, a resident
of Dartmouth Avenue reported a burglary to their unlocked vehicle while it was
parked outside their residence. A briefcase and digital camera were reported
stolen.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 2, 2009 @ 1440 hours, two
Bedminster girls, age 13 and 14, were arrested for shoplifting at Spencer’s
Gifts. The girls were observed by an employee concealing merchandise in bags
they were carrying. After they were taken into custody by the store employee,
it was determined they had stolen $139 worth of merchandise from Spencer’s. The
girls were also in possession of $133 worth of merchandise that was stolen from
Hot Topic. The girls were released to a parent pending the authorization of
charges by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
Harassment Arrest – July 3, 2009 @ 1859 hours, John C.
Bossany, 42, Bridgewater, NJ was charged with harassment following an incident
at police headquarters. Bossany directed profanity toward police officers and
was screaming while just outside of Kid Street Park. After Bossany left police
headquarters, he called and spoke with the officer in charge of headquarters and
went into a profanity laced tirade. Bossany was arrested the following day and
served with a warrant for harassment. He was released after posting $1,000
bail.
DWI
Arrest – July 3, 2009 @ 2053 hours, Diego Orellana-Alas,
35, Elizabeth was arrested for DWI on Route 22 East. Orellana-Alas was charged
with DWI, refusal to submit breath samples and obstructing traffic.
Criminal
Mischief – July 6, 2009 @ 1009 hours, a resident of
Raritan reported the driver side window on their 2005 Cadillac was smashed while
it was parked at Costco.
Criminal
Mischief – July 6, 2009 @ 1107 hours, a Bridgewater
resident reported the rear window on their 1999 Mazda was smashed while it was
parked at the Somerset County Transportation Yard on East Main Street.
Theft –
July 7, 2009 @ 1140 hours, a resident of Bound Brook reported their 2002
Econoline Van was stolen while it was parked at Home Depot on Promenade
Boulevard.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 7, 2009 @ 1837 hours, a 17
year old girl from Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting a $20 pair of shorts
from Macy’s. A store loss prevention officer observed the girl remove the sales
tags from the shorts and place them in her purse. The girl was turned over to a
family member.
Theft –
July 8, 2009 @ 1209 hours, a resident of Stanford Drive reported someone entered
their storage unit and stole a Mongoose mountain bike valued at $500.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 8, 2009 @ 1314 hours,
Jessica S. Lopez, 30, Bound Brook, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at
Bloomingdale’s. A loss prevention officer observed Lopez remove the security
sensors from a shirt and jeans and place the merchandise in her purse. Lopez
was charged with shoplifting and released.
Theft –
July 8, 2009 @ 1413 hours, an employee of Game Stop, located on Route 202 South,
reported someone stole a Sony PS3 valued at $350. The employee told the
investigating officer the PS3 was reportedly broken and did not work properly.
Theft –
July 9, 2009 @ 1741 hours, an employee of Hollister reported someone entered the
store and stole 30 shirts valued at $900 from a display rack.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 9, 2009 @ 2108 hours, Celsa
Benegas, 21, Somerville, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Bloomingdale’s. A
loss prevention officer observed Benegas place a dress valued at $108 in her
bag. After Benegas was taken into custody it was determined that she was
wearing two blouses she had stolen from Bloomingdale’s. Benegas was charged
with shoplifting and released.
DWI Arrest - July 10, 2009 @ 0210
hours, Kieran P. Hamill, 24, Somerville, NJ was arrested for DWI on West End
Avenue. Hamill was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, failure
to maintain a lane, failure to use signal and failure to inspect. While Hamill
was in police custody he threatened to kill the officers and was flailing his
arms and legs wildly. Hamill was additionally charged with disorderly conduct
and harassment. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $5,000
bail with 10% to apply.
DWI/Drug Arrest – July 10, 2009 @ 2313
hours, Athanasio Papachristos, 49, North Plainfield was arrested for DWI on
Union Avenue. Papachristos was also found in possession of less than 50 grams
of marijuana and two pipes used to smoke marijuana. Papachristos was charged
with possession of CDS under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia,
possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, DWI and speeding.
Burglary/Theft – July 11, 2009 @ 1025 hours, a
resident of Somerville reported their unlocked 2003 Acura TL was broken into and
a GPS and a small amount of cash were stolen.
Theft – July 11, 2009 @ 1727
hours, a resident of Charlotte Drive reported their 1998 Mercedes Benz E320 was
stolen from their driveway. The investigation revealed that the victim had
their 2001 Acura MDX stolen in Newark earlier in the day. The keys to both
vehicles were apparently left in the Acura. The person that stole the Acura may
have used the vehicles GPS unit in navigate their way to Bridgewater. After
arriving on Charlotte Drive the Acura was left in front of the victim’s home and
the Mercedes was stolen.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 12, 2009 @ 0956 hours,
Stanley J. Somonski, 53, Somerville, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Target.
Somonski was arrested after being found in possession of three DVD players
valued in excess of $300. While Target loss prevention was trying to apprehend
Somonski, he resisted their efforts and a struggle ensued. Somonski was
eventually taken into custody by loss prevention officers. Somonski was charged
with shoplifting 4th degree and simple assault. He was lodged in the
Somerset County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail with 10% to apply.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 13, 2009 @ 1139 hours, Kevin
Parker 23 and Donald Pinel 23, both of Bridgewater were arrested for shoplifting
at Home Depot. A store loss prevention officer observed Parker and Pinel place
nearly $200 worth of plumbing supplies in their pants pockets. Parker and Pinel
were charged with shoplifting and lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of
$5,000 bail with 10% to apply.
Burglary/Theft – July 13, 2009 @ 1623 hours, a
resident of Schindler Terrace reported their home was burglarized. The
investigation revealed the actor gained entry into the home by climbing through
an open window after cutting the screen. The actor then stole a flat screen
television and two video game systems.
Burglary/Theft – July 14, 2009 @ 1157 hours, a
resident of Columbia Drive reported their unlocked 2006 Hyundai Elantra was
burglarized. The victim reported a GPS unit and a fanny pack were stolen from
the vehicle.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 14, 2009 @ 1500 hours, a 17
year old girl from Flemington was arrested for shoplifting $236 worth of Coach
shoes from Macy’s. The girl was released to her father pending charges.
Criminal
Mischief – July 16, 2009 @ 1822 hours, two incidents
of criminal mischief were reported at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The owners
of two vehicles reported someone had slashed tires on their vehicles.
DWI Arrest – July 17, 2009 @ 1337
hours, Robert M. Schwobel, 51, Central Islip, NY was arrested for DWI on Route
22 West. Schwobel was charged with DWI and speeding.
Burglary/Theft – July 20, 2009 @ 1456 hours, an
employee of a vending machine company reported that someone broke into his
company truck while it was parked outside a business on Frontier Road. The
investigation revealed that while the employee was inside the business, someone
cut the lock off the rear door of the truck and stole bags containing
approximately $2,000.
Theft –
July 21, 2009 @ 0938 hours, an employee of Allstate Insurance reported someone
stole two Dell laptop computers from their office located on Route 202/206.
Burglary/Theft – July 21, 2009 @ 2126 hours, a
resident on Schaal Street reported someone entered their open garage and stole a
Pacific Mountain Bike valued at $150.
DWI Arrest – July 23, 2009 @ 0741
hours, John M. Rannells, 18, Branchburg, NJ was arrested for DWI on Williamson
Court. Rannells was arrested after officers were dispatched to a reported
suspicious person and he was found illegally parked. Rannells was charged with
DWI and improper parking.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 23, 2009 @ 1807 hours, a 14
year old girl from Dunellen was arrested for shoplifting two pair of earrings
valued at $13 from Claire’s. A store employee observed the girl remove the
earrings from a display and conceal them in a bag she was carrying. The girl
was released to her mother.
Bad
Checks Arrest – July 24, 2009 @ 1611 hours, Ramon
Johnson, 20, Elizabeth, NJ was arrested for attempting to cash a $2,975
fraudulent check at Peaback Gladstone Bank. Johnson was charged with fourth
degree bad checks, third degree forgery and possession of CDS under 50 grams.
After being arrested, Johnson was found in possession of three small bags of
marijuana. Johnson was lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $2,500
bail.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 24, 2009 @ 1951 hours, two
individuals were arrested for shoplifting from Costco. A store security officer
told police they observed Maria G. Prado, 29, Manville, N.J. and a 17 year old
girl from Manville conceal a package of plates and a package of batteries and
attempt to leave the store. They both were charged with shoplifting and
released.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 25, 2009 @ 1515 hours,
Lataija L. Bryant, 18, Tobyhanna, PA was arrested for shoplifting $12 worth of
head wraps and pony tailers from Claire’s. A store employee observed Bryant
place the merchandise in her purse and attempt to leave the store. Bryant was
charged with shoplifting and released.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 27, 2009 @ 1245 hours,
Christopher Vetter, 33, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for shoplifting 12 assorted
DVD’s from Costco. A store security officer observed Vetter stuff the DVD’s
inside the waistband of his pants. Vetter was stopped by the security officer
as he tried to exit the store. Vetter was charged with fourth degree
shoplifting and lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
Burglary/Theft – July 27, 2009 @ 1452 hours, a Basking
Ridge resident reported their vehicle was burglarized while it was parked at The
Office Restaurant. The actor entered the vehicle by smashing a window. A
navigation unit and an Ipod were stolen.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 27, 2009 @ 1456 hours a 16
year old girl from Belle Mead was arrested for shoplifting at Spencer’s Gifts.
A store employee told police they observed the girl place a magnet valued at
$3.00 in her bag and attempt to leave the store. The girl was then taken into
custody by the employee. After being arrested, it was determined the girl was
in possession of merchandise she had stolen from Macy’s, Claire’s and Wet Seal.
The girl was released to her mother.

Mischief – July 27, 2009 @ 1849 hours, a resident of
Barrington Drive reported that someone entered their property and damaged the
fence that surrounds their pool. The fence was apparently damaged while the
actors were climbing it to access the pool. The resident also reported that the
liner for the pool was punctured.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 27, 2009 @ 1852 hours, two
individuals were arrested for shoplifting at Claire’s. A store employee told
police they observed Senecia O. Andries, 18, Plainfield, N.J. and a 13 year old
girl from Plainfield conceal three necklaces and a bracelet in a bag and attempt
to exit the store. They both were charged with shoplifting and released.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 30, 2009 @ 2125 hours, a 17
year old girl from Hillsborough and a 17 year old girl from Neshanic Station
were arrested for shoplifting jewelry from Macy’s. The girls were observed by a
loss prevention officer concealing the jewelry in one of the girl’s purse and
attempt to leave the store. Both girls were charged with shoplifting and
released to a family member.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 31, 2009 @ 1232 hours,
Amanda Martin, 21, East Brunswick, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at
Bloomingdales. A loss prevention officer observed Martin remove the security
sensor from a t-shirt and conceal the shirt in her purse. Martin was taken into
custody as she exited into the mall. She was charged with shoplifting and
released.
Shoplifting Arrest – July 31, 2009 @ 1454 hours,
Kimberly A. Snyder, 21, Somerset, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Spencer’s
Gifts. A store employee observed Snyder conceal two t-shirts in her purse and
exit the store. Snyder was charged with shoplifting and released.
Shoplifting/Hindering Apprehension Arrest – July 31,
2009 @ 2041 hours, Chantel Mckenzie, 18, Plainfield, NJ was arrested for
shoplifting at Spencer’s Gifts. A store employee advised police they observed
Mckenzie remove a $10 necklace from a display and place it in her purse.
Mckenzie then attempted to leave the store. Mckenzie was also charged with
hindering apprehension after the arresting officer determined she had told him
she was a juvenile.
