  Motor Vehicle Theft – June 1, 2009 @ 1630 hours, a resident of Whitehouse Station reported their 2000 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a parking lot at Ethicon.

  Burglary/Theft – June 1, 2009 @ 1654 hours, a resident of Warren reported their 2004 Honda Pilot was burglarized while it was parked at Washington Valley Park (Miller Lane).  The vehicle was entered through an unlocked door and the victims wallet was stolen.  

  Burglary/ Theft – June 4, 2009 @ 0537 hours, a resident of Shady Lane reported their unlocked 2000 GMC pick-up was burglarized.  The victim’s driver license and credit cards were stolen from the vehicle.  Several other residents from the Shady Lane area had their vehicles burglarized, but nothing was stolen.

  Burglary/Theft – June 4, 2009 @ 0706 hours, a resident of Vosseller Avenue reported their unlocked 2008 Hyundai Entourage and 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe were burglarized while parked in their driveway overnight.  Among the items stolen were a laptop computer, digital voice recorder, cell phone, binoculars and a GPS unit.

  Burglary/Theft – June 4, 2009 @ 0706 hours, a resident of Vosseller Avenue reported two of their unlocked vehicles were burglarized while parked in their driveway.  The suspect stole a radar detector and four TENS units (electronic stimulators).  Each TENS unit was valued at $555.

  Burglary/Theft – June 4, 2009 @ 0927 hours, a resident of Vosseller Avenue reported their unlocked 2007 Toyota Camry was burglarized.  The suspect stole a GPS unit.

  Arrest - Receiving Stolen Property – June 4, 2009 @ 1901 hours, Thomas Diana, 38, Lakewood, NJ was arrested for receiving stolen property on Union Avenue following a motor vehicle stop.  Diana was arrested after it was determined the vehicle he was operating displayed a stolen license plate.  Diana was released after posting bail for three active municipal court warrants.

  Burglary/Theft – June 5, 2009 @ 1537 hours, a resident of Glen Road reported their unlocked Infinity I30 was burglarized.  The suspect stole an MP3 player and a pair of sunglasses.

  DWI Arrest – June 6, 2009 @ 0025 hours, Julio Cesar Serpas, 25, Flemington, NJ was arrested for DWI on Route 202/206 South.  Serpas was charged with DWI, failure to yield, failure to maintain a lane and for being an unlicensed driver.

  DWI Arrest – June 6, 2009 @ 0155 hours, Stephen A. Seltzer, 19, Hillsborough, NJ was arrested for DWI on Finderne Avenue.  Seltzer was arrested after an officer observed him throw a lit cigarette from his vehicle.  Seltzer was charged with DWI, driving while suspended and throwing debris from a vehicle.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 6, 2009 @ 1900 hours, a 17 year old girl from South Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting a $35 dress from Macy’s.  The girl was released to the custody of her father.

  Burglary/Theft – June 7, 2009 @ 1034 hours, a resident of Severin Drive reported their unlocked 2008 Nissan Pathfinder was burglarized.  The suspect stole the victim’s wallet from the vehicle.

  Burglary/Theft – June 7, 2009 @ 1253 hours, a resident of Totten Drive reported their unlocked 2008 Mazda CX9 was burglarized.  The suspect stole personal checks, American Express Gift Checks and a GPS unit.

  Burglary/Theft – June 7, 2009 @ 1342 hours, a resident of Linvale Lane reported their unlocked 2005 Ford Escape was burglarized.  The suspect stole a GPS unit.

  Burglary – June 7, 2009 @ 1420 hours, a resident of Tullo Farm Road reported their unlocked 1999 Lexus 470 and 2007 Mercedes Benz were burglarized.  Nothing was stolen from either vehicle, but they were rummaged through.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 7, 2009 @ 1510 hours, Joanna Struett, 43, New Hope, PA was arrested for shoplifting earrings valued at $55 from Lord & Taylor.  Struett was issued a summons for shoplifting and released.

  Burglary/Theft – June 8, 2009 @ 0824 hours, a resident of Mountain Top Road reported their unlocked 2007 Chrysler PT was burglarized.  The suspect stole a GPS unit.

  Arrest - Assault – June 10, 2009 @ 0335 hours, an assault was reported outside of Babies R Us.  The victim reported she was approached by another woman who took a lit cigarette and burned her face.  The investigation revealed the suspect was Lisa Tamilio, 28, Piscataway, NJ.  Tamilio was arrested and charged with simple assault and released without bail.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 10, 2009 @ 1339 hours, Caroline Acosta, 18, Somerville, NJ and three juvenile girls were arrested for shoplifting over $1,000 worth of merchandise from Claire’s.  Acosta was charged with single counts of shoplifting and receiving stolen property (disorderly person) and released without bail.  The girls were released to a family member.  Charges against the girls are pending the approval of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 11, 2009 @ 1815 hours, Paul Parker, 48, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $10 from Costco.  Parker was issued a summons for shoplifting and released without bail.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 11, 2009 @ 1847 hours, three women from Basking Ridge, Priscella Huff, 18, Angela Gentile, 18, and Brittany Kelleher, 19 were all arrested for shoplifting dresses at Macy’s.  The women were all charged with shoplifting and released without bail.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 11, 2009 @ 2103 hours, Katerine Hernandez, 20, Middlesex was arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s.  A store security officer told the arresting officer he observed Hernandez take a box of chocolate from a display and eat the chocolate as she walked through the store.  Hernandez was charged with shoplifting and released.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 12, 2009 @ 1319 hours, Laura Pakhmanov, 39, Sayreville was arrested for shoplifting at Lord and Taylor.  A store security officer observed Pakhmanov remove sales tags from discount items and place them on more expensive items.  She was taken into custody after she paid for the items.  Pakhmanov was charged with shoplifting and released.

  Arrest- Shoplifting – June 12, 2009 @ 2116 hours, a 17 year old girl from Monmouth Junction was arrested for shoplifting $100 worth of jewelry from Macys.  A store security officer found that the juvenile had concealed the jewelry in a pants pocket.  The girl was released to her father.

  Theft – June 12, 2009 @ 2315 hours, a resident of Woodbridge reported their $200 Sony digital camera was stolen from a table while they were attending an event at the Marriott Hotel.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 13, 2009 @ 1701 hours, Kristen Gilpin, 19, Bernardsville and Laura Gomez, 18, Bernardsville were both arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s.  A security officer located a pair of pants and shorts that Gilpin had concealed.  Gomez was found in possession of a pair of pants she had concealed in her bag.  Both women were charged with shoplifting and released.

  DWI Arrest – June 13, 2009 @ 1802 hours, Gloria T. Harris, 79, Bedminster, NJ was arrested for DWI on Washington Valley Road.  Harris was found in her vehicle stopped within a lane of travel and appeared to be disabled.  Harris was taken to Somerset Medical Center due to apparent intoxication.  She was charged with DWI and for having an open container of alcohol in her vehicle.  Harris was released to her daughter after being transported to police headquarters from the hospital.

  Burglary/Theft – June 14, 2009 @ 1051 hours, a resident of Saratoga Avenue reported a burglary and theft to their 2007 BMW X35.  The victim’s briefcase was stolen from the vehicle.  The victim was not sure if they had left the vehicle unlocked.

  Motor Vehicle Theft – June 14, 2009 @ 1641 hours, a resident of Piscataway reported the theft of their 2001 Dodge Durango while it was parked at Costco.

  Burglary – June 14, 2009 @ 1813 hours, a burglary was reported to a residence on Greenfield Road.  The actor entered the home cutting through a screen window and prying open the window.  The entire house was ransacked, but it was not known what was stolen.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 15, 2009 @ 1730 hours, Darlian Murkey, 32, Plainfield, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s.  Store security officers observed Murkey remove security sensors on a pair of pants and a shirt and conceal the clothing in her bag.  After being arrested Murkey gave the arresting officer a false name.  Murkey was charged with shoplifting, criminal mischief for damaging the clothing when she removed the sensors and hindering apprehension.  Murkey was turned over to the Plainfield Police for an active warrant out of their jurisdiction.

  Arrest – Identity Theft – June 17, 2009 @ 1404 hours, Andres Ciprian, 30, Plainfield, NJ was arrested for 2nd degree identity theft.  Ciprian is accused of using another person’s social security number for employment at a business in the Township.  The victim told the investigating officer that they attempted to apply for unemployment and were told they were not entitled due to still having a job.  It was determined that Ciprian was using the one using the victim’s social security number.  Ciprian was lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 17, 2009 @ 1743 hours, Maria Nunes, 64, Piscataway, NJ was arrested for shoplifting $34 worth of merchandise from Costco.  Nunes was charged with shoplifting and released.

  Arrest – Simple Assault/Resisting Arrest – June 17, 2009 @ 1944 hours, Elaine M. Speiser, 60, Livingston, NJ was arrested during the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 East.  Officers were attempting to arrest Speiser for active warrants she was unable to post bail on.  During the arrest, Speiser began to resist the efforts of the officers and struck one of officers in the arm.  Speiser was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and making an illegal u-turn.  She was released after posting $500 bail.

  Burglary/Theft – June 18, 2009 @ 1844 hours, a resident of Bound Brook reported their 2000 Saturn SL2 while it was parked at Hilton Garden Inn.  The actor gained entry to the vehicle by smashing a window and removing a DVD player and other personal items.

  Arrest – Hindering Apprehension – June 18, 2009 @ 2247 hours, Rigoberto Oviedo Martinez, 33, Plainfield, NJ was arrested for hindering apprehension during a motor vehicle stop on Union Avenue.  Oviedo Martinez gave the arresting officer another persons name to avoid a summons for being an unlicensed driver.  He was released from custody after posting $250 bail.

Shoplifting Arrest – June 20, 2009 @ 1452 hours, a 16 year old boy from Piscataway was arrested for shoplifting an $8 lighter from Spencer’s at the Bridgewater Commons Mall.

  Arrest – Disorderly Conduct/Resisting Arrest – June 20, 2009 @ 2217 hours, Joshua Butler, 25, Henryville, PA was arrested for disorderly conduct at the Bridgewater Marriott.  The police had responded to the Marriott for the report of a fight.  Upon the arrival of the police, Butler was observed yelling and using offensive language while in the presence of other guests.  When Butler was asked to calm down he refused and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct.  While being arrested, Butler attempted to resist the efforts of the officers by pulling away and twisting his body.  Butler was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $750 bail.

  Arrest – Shoplifting – June 21, 2009 @ 1520 hours, two Bridgewater boys were arrested for shoplifting $31 worth of jewelry form Spencer’s in the Bridgewater Commons Mall.  Each boy was released to the custody of a parent.

  Shoplifting – June 21, 2009 @ 1605 hours, a 12 year old girl from Bound Brook was arrested for shoplifting at the Essentials Store for stealing a $4 bottle of nail polish.  The girl was released to the custody of her mother.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 22, 2009 @ 1352 hours, two 15 year old boys from Bridgewater, NJ were arrested for shoplifting a $10 necklace from Spencer’s.

  DWI Arrest – June 22, 2009 @ 2155 hours, David A. Visavati, 51, Hillsborough, NJ was arrested for DWI on East Main Street following a motor vehicle crash.  Visavati was charged with DWI and careless driving.

  DWI Arrest – June 23, 2009 @ 0214 hours, Matthew J. Stevens, 20, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for DWI on Walters Brook Drive.  Stevens was charged with DWI, driving while suspended and failure to maintain a lane.

  Criminal Mischief – June 23, 2009 @ 0749 hours, a resident of Bridgewater reported their car was struck with a brick while it was parked at the Days Inn on Route 22 East.  The vehicle sustained damage to a passenger side door.

  Criminal Mischief – June 23, 2009 @ 1809 hours, a resident of Pittsburg, PA reported their car was damaged while it was parked at the Day Inn.  The actor threw a rock through the rear window of the vehicle.

  Theft – June 24, 2009 @ 1144 hours, an employee of Bank of America reported the theft of $2,300 worth of office equipment from an office at their building on Route 22 West.

  Theft – June 24, 2009 @ 1640 hours, a resident of Bridgewater reported their bicycle was stolen from the Bridgewater Commons Mall.  The bicycle was described as an orange DK General Lee BMX style valued at $150.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 25, 2009 @ 1211 hours, Christopher Vetter, 33, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Target.  A Target security officer observed Vetter conceal $238 worth of DVD’s under his shirt and attempt to leave the store.  Vetter was charged with shoplifting and released.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 25, 2009 @ 1610 hours, Sharon Chamorro, 20, North Plainfield, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Bloomingdale’s.  A Bloomingdale’s security officer observed Chamorro remove security sensors from two blouses valued at $148 and conceal them in her purse.  Chamorro was charged with shoplifting and criminal mischief and released.  The criminal mischief charge was as a result of the damage Chamorro caused to the blouses when she removed the security sensors.

  Motor Vehicle Arrest – June 25, 2009 @ 1724 hours, Tjuana Brown, 41, Jersey City, NJ was arrested for hindering apprehension during a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 West.  During the stop, Brown provided the arresting officer with a fictitious name.  The officer learned that Brown used the fictitious name to avoid being arrested for an active warrant out of Union Township.  Brown was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, contempt of court, driving while suspended, no liability insurance, fictitious plates and obstructing traffic.  Brown was released after posting $305 for the warrant out of Union Township.

  DWI Arrest – June 25, 2009 @ 2256 hours, Anthony J. Horning, 36, Basking Ridge, NJ was arrested for DWI on Commons Way.  Horning was charged with DWI, speeding and careless driving.

  Shoplifting – June 26, 2009 @ 0924 hours, an employee of Golfsmith reported that a white male in his 60’s walked out of the store with a set of Callaway golf clubs valued at $500.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 27, 2009 @ 1403 hours, Mia Brown, 40, Piscataway, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s.  Brown was observed by a security officer attempting to exit the store with a purse valued at $125.  Brown was arrested and charged with shoplifting.  She was turned over to the Helmetta Borough Police Department after it was learned they had an active warrant for her arrest and she was unable to post the bail.

  Burglary/Theft – June 28, 2009 @ 0253 hours, a resident of Bridgewater reported their vehicle was burglarized while it was parked on Dartmouth Avenue.  The vehicle was apparently left unlocked and a laptop computer valued at $3,000 was stolen.

  Burglary/Theft – June 28, 2009 @ 0636 hours, a resident of Bridgewater reported their unlocked vehicle was burglarized while it was parked on Columbia Drive.  A GPS unit valued at $250 was stolen from the vehicle.

  Burglary/Theft – June 28, 2009 @ 1347 hours, a resident of Columbia Drive reported their unlocked vehicle was burglarized while it was parked next to their residence.  The victim reported the owner’s manual for the vehicle was the only thing stolen.

  Burglary/Theft – June 29, 2009 @ 1030 hours, a resident of Stratford Place reported their unlocked vehicle was burglarized while it was parked next to their residence.  The victim told the investigating officer their car radio and Ipod were stolen.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 29, 2009 @ 1457 hours, a 13 year old boy from Warren was arrested for shoplifting a pack of fake cigarettes from Spencer’s Gifts.

  Criminal Mischief Arrest – June 30, 2009 @ 0003 hours, Thomas J. Krenick, 18, Somerset, NJ, Steven A. Kaiser Jr, 18, Bound Brook, NJ and a 17 year old boy from Bound Brook were arrested for criminal mischief.  The Bridgewater Police received a call from a resident of Vosseller Avenue who had observed a vehicle stop by their neighbor’s house.  A passenger of the vehicle exited and smashed the neighbor’s driveway light.  A description of the vehicle was broadcast and a responding officer located it on Vosseller Avenue near Route 22.  Krenick and Kaiser were charged with criminal mischief and released.  The juvenile was released to his parents with charges pending the authorization of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 30, 2009 @ 1403 hours, Miriam Santana, 25, New Brunswick, NJ was arrested for shoplifting at Bloomingdale’s.  A store security officer observed Santana conceal four pairs of jeans in a shopping bag.  The jeans were valued at $767.  Santana was charged with third degree shoplifting and released without bail.

  Shoplifting Arrest – June 30, 2009 @ 1935 hours, a 12 year old boy from Flemington was arrested for shoplifting $13 worth of merchandise from Spencer’s Gifts.
