Theft Arrest –
May 5, 2009 @ 1100 hours, Latrice Keely, 26, Somerville, NJ was arrested for
theft of a prescription blank from a doctor’s office on Union Avenue. Keely was
charged with third degree theft and released.
Burglary/Theft
– May 6, 2009 @ 1015 hours, a resident of Tunison Lane reported their basement
storage unit was burglarized and two bags of tools, a stereo and a wet saw were
stolen. The actor gained entry into the storage unit by prying open the padlock
on the door.
Drug Paraphernalia Arrest –
May 6, 2009 @ 1222 hours, Fernando Villa, 21, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for
possession of drug paraphernalia at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. A Bridgewater
police officer on patrol at the mall located Villa in a parked vehicle.
Investigation revealed Villa was in possession of a plastic bag that contained
white residue, suspected to be a controlled dangerous substance. Villa was
charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released.
Burglary/Theft –
May 6, 2009 @ 1732 hours, a Bridgewater resident reported their
2004 Acura was burglarized while it was parked at a business on Union Avenue.
The victim’s vehicle was entered after a window was smashed. A GPS unit was
stolen from the vehicle.
Burglary/Theft – May 6, 2009 @ 2116 hours, a resident of Tunison Lane
reported their basement storage unit was burglarized and assorted hand tools,
two cordless drills and a multi-meter were stolen. The actor gained entry into
the storage unit by prying open the padlock on the door.
DWI Arrest
– May 6, 2009 @ 2130 hours, John A. Adams, 53, Bridgewater was arrested for DWI
on Route 22 West. Adams was charged with DWI and refusal to submit breath
samples.
Theft/Conspiracy – May 7, 2009 @ 1644 hours, Yang Z. Zhen, 21, Brooklyn, NY,
Guofang Chen, 36, Brooklyn, NY and a 17 year old female were arrested for theft
and conspiracy at Bloomingdale’s. The trio is accused of using gift cards at
Bloomingdale’s that were purchased from Bloomingdale’s in Staten Island with a
stolen American Express store. Zhen and Chen were lodged in the Somerset County
Jail with bail to be set. The juvenile was placed in the Middlesex County
Juvenile Detention pending a hearing.
Theft –
May 9, 2009 @ 1747 hours, a resident of Moorestown reported their 1999 Dodge
Caravan was stolen while it was parked at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Burglary/Theft –
May 11, 2009 @ 1451 hours, the owner of a home under construction on Stella
Drive reported a burglary and theft from the home. The suspects gained entry
through an open doorway and removed a generator and several hand tools. The
owner estimated the cost of the stolen items to be in excess of $2,000.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 12, 2009 @ 1044 hours, Jennifer Coney, 44, Plainfield, NJ was
arrested for shoplifting at Target. A store security officer reported they
observed Coney place clothing and electronic equipment in a shopping cart and
exit the store. Coney was then taken into custody by store security. Coney was
charged with third degree shoplifting and lodged in the Somerset County Jail in
lieu of $30,000 cash bail.
Burglary/Theft –
May 12, 2009 @ 1722 hours, a burglary to a residence was reported on Finderne
Avenue. It appears the suspect entered the home through the front door that may
have been left unlocked. An undetermined amount of jewelry and video game
equipment was stolen from the residence.
Theft – May 12,
2009 @ 1728 hours, a resident of Succasuanna, NJ reported her purse was stolen
from her shopping cart while at Wegmans. The purse was reported to contain $900
in cash.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 12, 2009 @ 1749 hours, Jerry L. Weikel, 20, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for
shoplifting at Best Buy. A Best Buy security officer determined that, Weikel,
who was employed by Best Buy, had stolen two iPods and an iPod FM transmitter.
The store security officer signed a complaint against Weikel for shoplifting and
he was released after arrest processing.
Theft – May 14,
2009 @ 0957 hours, a representative from Verizon reported the theft of a large
generator from a location on Adamsville Road. The generator was located outside
a building and was valued at $66,000.
Burglary/Theft –
May 15, 2009 @ 1504 hours, a residence on Jenna Drive was reported burglarized
sometime during the day. The suspect entered the residence by prying open a
rear sliding door. All the rooms in the residence were ransacked and jewelry
and cash was stolen.
Burglary/Theft –
May 15, 2009 @ 1714 hours, a resident of Somerset, NJ reported their 2008
Cadillac CTS was burglarized while parked at a business on Finderne Avenue. The
suspect broke a window on the vehicle and stole an iPod and a pair of
sunglasses.
Criminal Mischief –
May 16, 2009 @ 0803 hours, a resident of Chelsea Way reported someone smashed
the tailgate window on their 2007 Ford Expedition while it was parked at their
residence.
Theft/Theft by Deception/Forgery Arrest –
May 17, 2009 @ 1307 hours a Bridgewater resident came to police headquarters and
reported the theft and use of their debit card. Investigation revealed the
victim had used the debit card at the AMC Movie Theater to make a purchase and
left the card on the counter. A theater employee took the card and made
purchases at two stores at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The suspect was
identified as a 16 year old boy from Plainfield. The boy was arrested and
charged with theft, theft by deception and forgery. He was turned over to a
family member.
Follow-up: The
crash investigation I reported on May 20, 2009 that resulted in the death of Siu
Ng, 71, Piscataway, NJ has been determined not to be a fatal motor vehicle
crash. The cause of death was due to a heart attack and not the result of any
injuries sustained from the crash.
DWI Arrest –
May 17, 2009 @ 2253 hours, Kenneth Rodriquez, 29, Bound Brook, NJ
was arrested for DWI on Sloan Court following a motor vehicle crash. Rodriquez
was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, failure to
report a crash and careless driving.
DWI Arrest –
May 19, 2009 @ 2358 hours, Joseph L. Mankowski, 48, Skillman, NJ was arrested
for DWI on Route 206 South. Mankowski was charged with DWI and failure to stop.
Hindering Apprehension Arrest –
May 21, 2009 @ 0405 hours, David Figueroa, 20, Bridgewater, NJ
was arrested for hindering apprehension on East Main Street. Figueroa was
arrested after a patrol officer located him in the parking lot of a closed
business. He was arrested after he provided the officer that stopped him a
false name. Figueroa was released without bail.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 21, 2009 @ 1648 hours, Susan M. Mehl, 60, Warren, NJ was
arrested for shoplifting $343 worth of clothing from Bloomingdale’s. A store
security officer observed Mehl concealing the clothing in a shopping bag. Mehl
was charged with fourth degree shoplifting and released.
DWI Arrest –
May 21, 2009 @ 2045 hours, Orlando Perez, 43, Bridgewater, NJ was arrested for
DWI on Route 202/206 South. Perez was charged with DWI and failure to maintain
a lane.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 22, 2009 @ 1504 hours, Dana E. Viola, 32, Florham Park, NJ
was arrested for shoplifting at Bloomingdale’s. A security officer found that
Viola had concealed four pairs of pants, valued at $286, in a bag she was
carrying. Viola was released pending court after being issued a summons for
shoplifting.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 22, 2009 @ 1812 hours, two 16 year girls from Pittstown were
arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s. The girls were observed by a security
officer from Macy’s concealing clothing in the bags they were carrying. They
were released to a family member after being processed for the arrest.

May 22, 2009 @ 2201 hours, Jordan P. Albanese, 18, Manville, NJ
and Monika Ozieblo, 19, Manville, NJ were arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s.
The women were charged with shoplifting and released.
DWI Arrest –
May 22, 2009 @ 2359 hours, Angelo M. Rodriguez, 51, Somerville,
NJ was arrested for DWI on East Main Street. Rodriguez was charged with DWI,
refusal to submit breath samples, no liability insurance and failure to maintain
a lane.
DWI Arrest –
May 23, 2009 @ 2245 hours, Michael G. Iuzzolino, 52, New Providence, NJ was
arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs on Route 22 East.
Iuzzolino was charged with DWI and failure to maintain a lane.

May 23, 2009 @ 2353 hours, William Watters, 53, Edison, NJ was arrested for DWI
on Route 22 East. Watters was charged with DWI and failure to maintain a lane.
Theft – May 24,
2009 @ 0841 hours, a resident of Vanderveer Road reported someone stole three
hanging flower baskets from their yard.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 24, 2009 @ 1632 hours, Steven C. Downey, 41, Bloomfield, NJ
was arrested for shoplifting a Rock Band 2 video game set, valued at $190, from
Target. Downey was released pending court after being issued a summons for
shoplifting.
Criminal Mischief –
May 24, 2009 @ 1736 hours, Justin M. Capozzi, 27, Bridgewater, NJ was charged
with criminal mischief. Capozzi was being arrested for active warrants when he
slammed his own head into the trunk of a Bridgewater Police Department patrol
vehicle. Capozzi’s actions resulted in the trunk lid being dented. Capozzi was
charged with criminal mischief and lodged in the Somerset County Jail due to the
active warrants.
Burglary – May
25, 2009 @ 2244 hours, a resident of Papen Road reported a burglary to an
unlocked BMW X3. The resident reported the vehicle burglary while it was in
progress and was able to provide a suspect description. A responding officer
located, Steven Lawson, 29, Raritan, NJ on Mount Vernon Road. Lawson was
arrested and found in possession of stolen property. Lawson was charged with a
single count of third degree burglary, third degree theft and fourth degree
criminal trespass. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail. Additional
charges may result from other burglaries and thefts reported in the area.

May 25, 2009 @ 2348 hours, a burglary and theft from a motor
vehicle was reported on Sunset Ridge. An unlocked Dodge Caravan was entered and
a Blackberry cell phone valued at $300 was stolen.

May 26, 2009 @ 0012 hours, a burglary and theft from an unlocked GMC Sierra was
reported on Papen Road. A Nikon camera valued at $160 was stolen from the
vehicle.

May 26, 2009 @ 0740 hours, a burglary to an unlocked Mercedes ML350 was
reported. An Apple iTouch valued at $300 was stolen from the vehicle.

May 26, 2009 @ 1632 hours, a resident of Riha Street reported someone entered
their home and stole a laptop computer. The residence was entered after the
actor cut a screen window and opened the window that was left unlocked. The
only item stolen was a laptop computer valued at $500.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 27, 2009 @ 1901 hours, a 16 year old boy from Bridgewater was arrested for
shoplifting at Macy’s. The boy is accused of stealing a t-shirt and jeans
valued at $88.

May 27, 2009 @ 1901 hours, a 16 year old boy from Bridgewater was arrested for
shoplifting at Macy’s. The boy is accused of stealing a pair of sunglasses
valued at $149.

May 29, 2009 @ 1458 hours, Paul Didaniele, 43, Ronkonkoma, NY was arrested for
shoplifting $871 worth of merchandise from Target. Didaniele was charged with
third degree shoplifting and released.
Shoplifting –
May 29, 2009 @ 1500 hours, an employee of Best Buy reported the theft of two
Macbook Pro laptop computers. The computers were valued at $2,500 and $2,000.
Shoplifting Arrest –
May 30, 2009 @ 1828 hours, Erin Gross, 25, Asbury, NJ was arrested for
shoplifting $297 worth of merchandise at Bloomingdale’s. Gross was also charged
with criminal mischief after it was determined she had damaged some of the
clothing while prying off the security sensors.
Burglary/Theft –
May 30, 2009 @ 1959 hours, a resident of Totowa, NJ reported a burglary and
theft from their Dodge Caravan while it was parked on Fairmount Avenue. The
victim reported they had locked the vehicle, but no forced entry was found. Two
camcorders and a digital camera were stolen from the vehicle.
Burglary/Theft – May 31, 2009 @ 1438 hours, a
residence on Vosseller Avenue was reported burglarized. The suspect, who was
described as a white or Hispanic male approximately 20 years old 6’ – 6’2” tall
clean shaven with spiked hair operating a red car, cut a front screen and
entered through the window. The suspect removed jewelry from the home.
