Weather Advisory

Bridgewater Police Department 

Bridgewater Office of Emergency Management

Timing: Monday (1/19/26) through Wednesday (1/21/26)

The Bridgewater Police Department and the Bridgewater Office of Emergency Management are monitoring the weather forcast for Monday into Wednesday.

A frigid airmass is spreading into the region for the first half of the week. 

 

What Has Changed: A Cold Weather Advisory is now in effect for tonight and Tuesday morning for additional portions of the area.


Hazardous Weather: Cold. Wind chill values will be down into the single digits to as low as 15 degrees below zero. 

Locations affected: The entire area. Wind chills below zero are expected in central New Jersey and northwest of the I-95 corridor with the coldest wind chills in the Southern Poconos.

Timing: The coldest wind chills will be tonight into Tuesday morning. Air temperatures will be colder on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning but winds will be lighter, mitigating some of the impact. 

Impacts: Prolonged exposure to the cold could result in hypothermia or frostbite. The lowest wind chill values will be in the morning, having an impact on the morning commute, especially for children waiting for the bus.

NO PARKING ON EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES

Pursuant to the provisions of §§ 206-21 and 206-27.1, wherever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, no person shall park a vehicle upon either side of any of the streets or parts thereof listed below, and no person shall cause, permit, allow or suffer any vehicle owned by or driven by him to become stalled or immobile on any of the streets or parts thereof listed below because of failure of said vehicle to be equipped with snow tires or chains in good working order. (See also 39:4-56.1(b))

Treat all downed power lines as if they are still live. Do not approach or touch any downed line. It is encouraged to charge all cell phones and have extra batteries in the event you lose power.
