The CDC wants to caution the public that it is not deploying teams of people to go door to door to conduct surveillance. If an individual claims to be from the CDC do not let them in your home or speak with them. They are imposters. Contact your local law enforcement if this activity is reported in your municipality.

Due to the current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Bridgewater Police Department is asking the public’s assistance regarding non-emergencies for the following circumstances:

If you need to file a non-emergency report such as minor property damage, ID Theft, criminal mischief, harassment (Non Domestic Violence related), or lost property that you utilize our self-reporting system located on our website at https://www.bridgewaterpd.com (secure.coplogic.com/dors/startreport/300000272). If the report requires any follow up, an officer will contact you at the number on the reporting form.

We ask that you refrain from visiting the Police Department if you have or had a fever or other associated symptoms. We strongly encourage the use of the phone for questions the public may have for the department.

Also, all fingerprinting, tours of the Police Department and special policing events will be suspended for the next three weeks starting on Saturday, March 14th, 2020.

All Municipal Court sessions are canceled until further notice. You will receive a notice in the mail with your new court date. If you have any questions, contact the court at 908-725-6375.

We are taking these measures to assure the health and safety of our officers and their ability to continue to protect the residents in Bridgewater Township.

All emergencies requiring immediate police assistance, dial 911.

Stay healthy and safe.

Acting Chief Paul Payne

We strongly urge you not to open any document or web link sent to you by someone you do not know or weren't expecting. These links and documents could contain viruses, Trojans or malware that could infect your computer or home network.

Watch for emails claiming to be from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention or saying that they have information about the virus.

Ignore online offers for vaccinations. If you see ads touting prevention, treatment or cure claims for Coronavirus, ask yourself: if there's been a medical breakthrough, would you be hearing about it for the first time through an ad or sales pitch?

Do your homework when it comes to donations, whether through charities or crowd funding sites. If someone wants donations in cash, by gift card or by wiring money, don't do it.

Be alert to "investment opportunities." The U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) is warning people about online promotions, including on social media, claiming that the products or services of publicly-traded companies can prevent, detect or cure the coronavirus and that stock of these companies will dramatically increase in value as a result.
