Fingerprinting:

Township residents needing fingerprinting for adoption, financial matters, immigration, naturalization, employment checks, visas, person records, and good conduct should contact IdentoGO by calling (877) 503-5981.

Firearms

Firearms Registration and Application System (FARS):

Step 1: Log on to www.njportal.com/njsp/fars

Step 2: The Bridgewater Police Department's ORI # - NJ0180600

Step 3: Complete the online application. You may complete the application using a smartphone, mobile device, laptop or desktop computer. When completing the application you will need the email addresses of two (2) reputable references. Your references can be family members.

Step 4: You can appear at your police department to pay for your initial Firearms Identification Card (FID Card) and/or Pistol Purchase Permits or pay be credit card at this link, https://secure.municipay.com/payapp/public/ECSale.html?siteId=uazuhubhze&urlKey=12dad897040eb3c51f07017e447a60ac&deptId=uazuhubhzeYour application will not be processed until you have paid for the FID Card / Pistol Permits. Non-refundable payment is required to be made prior to the completion of the background as per NJSC 13:54.1.4. (Fees due can be found in your confirmation email from the portal).

You will be receiving automated email updates throughout this new process.

Once your application is complete, a station representative will contact you to retrieve your FID card and/or Pistol Purchase Permit documents.

* Please advise your references that the FARS system will email them the reference questions to be answered. Your references can complete the questions using a smartphone, mobile device, laptop or desktop computer. Please advise them to complete the questions immediately to progress your background application. 

The online application is applicant driven. Please ensure that you have entered the best phone numbers for yourself and references as well the best email addresses for you and your references.

Applying for a Permit to Carry a Handgun

Step 1: Log on to Concealed Carry Permits (njportal.com)

 

Step 2: The Bridgewater Police Department's ORI # - NJ0180600

 

Step 3: Complete the online application. You may complete the application using a smartphone, mobile device, laptop or desktop computer. When completing the application, you will need the email addresses of four (4) reputable references. Your references can be family members.

 

Step 4: You can appear at your police department to pay for your Permit to Carry a Handgun or pay be credit card at this link, https://secure.municipay.com/payapp/public/ECSale.html?siteId=uazuhubhze&urlKey=12dad897040eb3c51f07017e447a60ac&deptId=uazuhubhzeYour application will not be processed until you have paid for the Permit to Carry a Handgun. * Once your application is complete and approved your will receive and email from the portal regarding your issued Permit to Carry a Handgun.

* Please advise your references that the portal system will email them the reference questions to be answered. Your references can complete the questions using a smartphone, mobile device, laptop or desktop computer. Please advise them to complete the questions immediately to progress your background application. 

* The online application is applicant driven. Please ensure that you have entered the best phone numbers for yourself and references as well the best email addresses for you and your references.

 

* The following instructions are the same for the initial and renewal application.

 

* Out of State Residents – apply at a non-toll road State Police Barracks closest to your residence.

Peddler/Solicitor Permits

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!

(Improperly prepared applications will not be processed)

 

First Time Applicants – (Fingerprinting Required):

1. All first time applicants must be fingerprinted. The fingerprints will be taken at a IdentoGo site. This information and appointment form will be provided upon the compilation and submission of your   application.

 

Returning Applicants: (Issued a previous permit in Bridgewater Twp.)

1. A Criminal History Records Check - must be conducted on all subsequent applications, on the internet only, the information will be provided upon the compilation and submission of your application.

   

Application Forms - Instructions:

1. All question MUST be answered.

2. Read the Township Ordinance which is provided for you.

3. Supply two (2) passport size photos with the application. (Taken within the past 60 days)

4. Written permission from the property owner if you are going to be in a stationary location, must accompany your application, to be processed.

 

Permit Fees:

1. Peddler Permit – $ 100.00

2. Solicitor Permit – $ 100.00

3. Transient Merchant Permit – $ 100.00

** Fees may be paid in cash or check (to “Bridgewater Township”) at the police department records window.
