June 3, 2026 - Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash on US 22

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - On Monday, June 2, 2025, at approximately 3:20 PM, the Bridgewater Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on US Hwy 22 Westbound in the vicinity of the Bridgewater Acura Dealership (1231 US Hwy 22).

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Hyundai Sonata (operated by Won Park, age- 90, Somerville, NJ) was traveling westbound on US Highway 22 in the center lane of travel. The Hyundai drifted to the right shoulder and struck a 2009 Chevrolet Shuttle Bus that was parked and disabled on the right shoulder.

The front-seat passenger of the 2009 Hyundai Sonata (Jung Bang, age- 89, Somerville, NJ) was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Hyundai, Park, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.

This crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
