December 6, 2019 - A Message From Acting Chief Payne

Bridgewater, NJ - On December 2, 2019, officers from the Bridgewater Police Department, along with other Somerset County Law Enforcement agencies and first responders responded to the needs of a Bridgewater resident. The officers on scene handled themselves with the utmost restraint and professionalism. Their training in this situation paid off with a positive ending for everyone involved. We accomplished our goal that night. Everyone went home to their families. I cannot thank my officers enough, as well as the Somerset County Prosecutor's Offices, officers from surrounding communities, first responders, New Jersey State Police, and Somerset County Communications, for their professionalism and willingness to get the job done, These types of situations hit home for all of us, and I cannot stop thinking about how everyone in this agency and the agencies that assisted with this call handled themselves. I am truly proud of everyone's actions that night. It is times like this that I am grateful for all the law enforcement and emergency personnel serving our township, county, and state. We appreciate the words of encouragement and support from our community.
