March 14, 2020 - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Police Department / Public Operational Procedure

Bridgewater, NJ - Due to the current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Bridgewater Police Department is asking the public’s assistance regarding non-emergencies for the following circumstances:

If you need to file a non-emergency report such as minor property damage, ID Theft, criminal mischief, harassment (Non Domestic Violence related), or lost property that you utilize our self-reporting system located on our website at ( If the report requires any follow up, an officer will contact you at the number on the reporting form.

We ask that you refrain from visiting the Police Department if you have or had a fever or other associated symptoms. We strongly encourage the use of the phone for questions the public may have for the department.

Also, all fingerprinting, tours of the Police Department and special policing events will be suspended for the next three weeks starting on Saturday, March 14th, 2020, until Saturday, April 4th, 2020.

All Municipal Court sessions are canceled until April 7, 2020. You will receive a notice in the mail with your new court date. If you have any questions, contact the court at 908-725-6375.

We are taking these measures to assure the health and safety of our officers and their ability to continue to protect the residents in Bridgewater Township.
