The Bridgewater Police Department was dispatched to the Bridgewater-Raritan High School at 11:45AM to the main cafeteria for an unknown odor. The cafeteria was quickly evacuated and police, fire and rescue immediately responded to the scene.
Investigation developed that a student possibly released pepper spray into the air, which at this time is believed to be the cause of the odor.
Several students are being assessed by local EMS and the school nursing staff for possible exposure to pepper spray.
Students have been allowed back into the school and the investigation is on-going.
Update to Follow.
