Bridgewater, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (C.A.R. Team) are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred on March 24, 2020 at 1:02 p.m. The crash occurred at the intersection of Union Avenue (State Highway 28) and Finderne Avenue.
At the time of the crash the female pedestrian had not been identified. With the assistance of the Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, the female victim has been identified as 68 year old Joanne Herbert of Bridgewater, NJ. Herbert had been pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
